Morning all.
It has been a while since I've been to Manchester and thus my roads and parking knowledge is gone. Any tips on the best place to park for the AO Arena, coming to the city from the M62 direction? I want to avoid the post-event parking queues
Thanks in advance!

From Strangeways side you come to the the lights , the college (Old Boddington's car park on your left, AO infront of you to the the left , turn right jump in left hand lane takes you down a little side street after about 50 yards a big car park there think it's about a fiver with no 'event' charging/ripping off ...

The way I usually approach is straight down Rochdale road turning right at Ancoats to head past the old CIS building and park in the Riga street car park on your left or the beswick row car park on your right. Both 5 mins walk from the AO after your gig.
Failing that, if you need something close, the Q Park at Deansgate North is there (1 min walk from the AO) and is straight down Bury New road if you come through Prestwich. Usually a queue to get out afterward though which is why I avoid it!

Top carpark above the old Boddington brewery.
Only small. Used to be cheap and away very quickly.
I haven't been for a few years though.

We park on Charter St Car Park. £3.70 for 24 hours.
It’s the first left immediately after Strangeways. We went to watch our daughters sing there on Wednesday night and got away ridiculously quick by leaving there and going through Cheetham Hill. By the time we’d got to the Duncan Halgh my mum and dad were still on Bury New Rd. They’d parked near the snooker hall which is closer to the Arena

I park on a single yellow opposite The Band on the Wall. About 10 min walk.
