For those who don’t know, Andy Wilson (Willy on this board) today passed away after a battle with cancer.
I was proud to call Willy a friend and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him!
RIP my friend

The second Claret who's passed away this week to my knowledge.
No illness or disease is anything other than grim but cancer is atrocious.
My thoughts and prayers go to all his family and friends thus with you ClaretInLeeds.
RIP Willy

Willy was an outstanding footballer, coach and all round top bloke. Followed the clarets home and away until very recently when his illness became too much.
I had the great pleasure of his friendship over many years, played Sunday league with him and up until a recently was an amazing coach to my lad at Barrowford Celtic.
Will be sadly missed by many people, love and thoughts to all his amazing family

Very sad to hear this news. Willy and his lads have travelled for many years with Accy Clarets and the last time that I saw him was Luton away. Condolences from myself and all at Accy Clarets to Sarah and the boys.

Extremely sad news. Played with/managed Andy when I was looking after the Burnley Supporters Team and he was an absolute gem of guy.
A brilliant guy, a bloody good footballer and a great craic on an away game.
Thoughts with his wife, friends and family. RIP buddy!

I don't think I know Andy personally, although likely our paths crossed playing football. Very sad news to lose another Claret.
RIP Willy.

More sad news to add to Linda who travelled with Boundary Clarets and was a very occasional poster on here.
Didn’t really know Willy but knew who he was. So, so sad.

Very sad to read the news earlier. Willy was an absolute gentleman, with a great wit and sense of humour, and was an outstanding footballer. RIP

Terribly sad. No age
I remember playing for Burnley fans team years ago. I was in my early 20s as were most of the team. Andy was in his late 30s/early 40s.
He was a million miles better than anyone else. Proper classy footballer in the middle of the park

He was also one of a handful of Clarets to have graced the Wembley turf, as seen in the programme for the Play Off Final in 94

Sad news. I gave him a few lifts to away games back in the early 90s. Also knew him through Pendle Forest and Barrowford Celtic.
