Police roadblock on Westgate last night
Does anyone know what this was about? Our journey out to the M65 took about an hour last night as all the roads around Westgate were gridlocked.

The town centre had been locked down due to large groups of teenagers gathering for a fight. Two large gangs had arranged it. Police had special powers in force.
I'm not joking by the way.

Had a quick pre-match pint in The Boot about 7:20pm and the town centre was absolutely catered for with some of the chaviest halfwits ever to pair a hoodie with North Face trackies.Somethingfishy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 6:59 pmThe town centre had been locked down due to large groups of teenagers gathering for a fight. Large police presence in town this afternoon/early evening. Eye witness reports of armed youths probably right yesterday

I know you're not. It's certainly true. I left The Bridge about 7.20 and there was an absolutely massive group of teenagers being coralled by the police on the corner close to McDonald's. I thought they were footy fans, but then realised they weren't. I walked through them because I had no choice and tbf it didn't look like anything was "happening" at that point.Somethingfishy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 6:59 pmThe town centre had been locked down due to large groups of teenagers gathering for a fight. Had a pint in the Bridge before the game. 2 Armed Police officers turned up and were looking for some teenagers on the carpark opposite and checking the river.

What was the fight about if not footy?

Re: Police roadblock on Westgate last night
If that's the case why did the little pricks pick a match night when loads of police about instead of an afternoon miles away from anywhere then they could have kicked 7 bells out of one another

It’s Bacup v Burnley, not a brain cell between them and they needed to get the bus home!!Ptangyangkipperbang wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 7:58 pmIf that's the case why did the little pricks pick a match night when loads of police about instead of an afternoon miles away from anywhere then they could have kicked 7 bells out of one another

The chav‐scroats wouldn't have known there was a football match taking place. They live in a different world to most people and so do their feckless 'parents'.

Re: Police roadblock on Westgate last night
I have not seen anything on social media about the accident but a taxi driver quoted 15 quid back to Padiham because of the accident.
We got the 152 back for a quid instead.
It was 45mins to an hour after the game and there was still flashing blue lights driving to the scene.
Luckily our bus driver drove around the roads to get us out of traffic and away with not much fuss.
Just hope everyone was alright who was involved.

On the way to the match there was a girl standing on the wrong side of the barrier on Centenary way and after the game there was an ambulance tending to someone outside the BLS.

I added that because it sounded ridiculous....and it is ridiculous. Lawlessness is becoming a way of life.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 7:26 pmI know you're not. It's certainly true. We’ve always had issues with teenage youth gangs though, for decades

I hope the juniors were better than the seniors and their van.
Remember them driving round looking for groups of 1 to attack in their numbers, sadly for them they ended up in the wrong part of the town centre one match day.

It was a milky one at that. Stupid thing to do. Asking for trouble.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 2:12 pmIt goes back to the 80's marble craze when Burnley and Bacup were massive rivals. I think a few Bacup boys jumped Burnley's top lad and pinched his prize dobber.

Re: Police roadblock on Westgate last night
I saw a little bit of what was happening. Looked like one young Burnley lad in a Clarets top was fighting 5 young Bacup lads who had the numbers 1,3,5,7 and 9 on the back of their shirts. I thought that’s not fair, the odds are against him.

The average age of the grubby little scroats I had to shove out of my way as I exited the chippy must have been about 11..mincing about like a bunch of half-witted fannies..as scary as angry butterflies.

Re: Police roadblock on Westgate last night
A 50 something bloke had a bit too much to say to the coppers.
Despite being asked to move on he persisted, got dropped, cuffed and chucked into the back of the police van.
When they picked him up I saw he was wearing a Wolves home shirt.
Clearly drunk, absolute melt!

Heard the Jackie Barnes Crew and Colin Streetcleaner Firm joined forces for the first time ever to drive the invading hoodlums out of the valley. They are currently keeping guard of Mannings.

The level of technology available to The Police these days is mind-boggling. To be able to produce such an accurate map with that level of precision is extraordinary - sensational cartographical skills, Ordnance Survey could learn a thing or two from them.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 9:45 pmRossendale police on Facebook tonight.

The " yoof" involved have been brought up to believe they are the centre of the world, Society owes them everything, discipline is a joke and as a child they were not naughty but their behaviour was etc etc, as a society we are reaping what we sowed .
