Big Performances Needed Tomorrow
Needless to say, we've got to go for the three points
against Toon, it's our best chance to get a win besides the Forest game and we need to still have skin in the game come that match.
So how do you see the key clashes tomorrow?
Got to keep Isak quiet of course, they still have quite a few out injured (as do we) although Callum Wilson could come back in, although not at the expense of Isak, Wilson maybe on the bench.
Muric will have to be on top of his game again, nowt silly.
Your thoughts?

Yeah agree, although spurs are'nt pulling any trees up at the moment we might get the backlash off them at their place - Newcastle although nothing to play for are one of the worst teams to play in that bracket as per 2 seasons ago - they always try - never seem to be "on the beach" probably might be also because they sell out their away end as well. Could have done with a Fulham tomorrow but it is what it is.
You have to believe Forest will win saturday in that case WE HAVE to win.

Re: Big Performances Needed Tomorrow
The frustrating thing for me is that we don’t really know what we need to do because of Forests pending appeal.
People keep saying it’s a ‘must win’ and obviously the way to give ourselves the best possible chance of staying up would be to win our remaining three games but if we were to go in to the final game 2 points adrift of them that’s the only real ‘must win’.
With Isak on fire I think we have to stop the service in to him. I also think we have to be controlled and sensible in how we play. The second half against United was very open and we should really have been punished. I don’t fancy that against Toon. Feel our best chance is keeping it close, no risks, then just trying to be more decisive and clinical than we have been all season when our chances come.

In some ways it’d be helpful if Forest are 3-0 up at HT to define what we need to do.s6t9a2f3f wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 10:41 amYeah agree, although spurs are'nt pulling any trees up at the moment we might get the backlash off them at their place - Newcastle although nothing to play for are one of the worst teams to play in that bracket as per 2 seasons ago - they always try - never seem to be "on the beach" probably might be also because they sell out their away end as well. Don't see how Forests appeal has any bearing over what we need to do - win.
You have to expect them to win tomorrow so either way we're going to be at least two points behind them if we do.
It wouldn't suit or benefit us to play for a draw anyway.
Gordon is my worry tomorrow.

Re: Big Performances Needed Tomorrow
Unfortunately for us, Newcastle and Tottenham both have massive incentives to win their remaining games. If Newcastle win tomorrow and follow it up by beating Brighton, leapfrogging Tottenham and finishing 5th in the PL becomes a realistic target. Tottenham have to go to Anfield on Sunday. Likewise Tottenham will desperately want to win their remaining home matches to try and secure a 5th place finish.
But to be fair Burnley have had a relatively easy run of fixtures over the last 6/8 games and a more testing set of matches is to come.

Lots of talk here in Galway about Alex Murphy getting a start for them as they are very short of players at the back .
He's a Galway lad and played for Galway until he was signed two years ago for them saw him play a couple of seasons for Galway .
The point is that they are really short at the back need to get on the front foot i would say .

Must win game regardless of the Forest point situation, in my opinion.

Needs a big performance from the stands too. A raucous atmosphere is needed to get behind the lads. UTC.

If that's the case, and they are struggling for defenders, then we really need to take it to them from the off.Tribesmen wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 11:22 amLots of talk here in Galway about Alex Murphy getting a start for them as they are very short of players at the back .

Cut off the supply of to Isak, (I know, easier said than done) and most of all, put those chances away.

Re: Big Performances Needed Tomorrow
I feel that Assignon uses his arms in a way that invites his opponents to go down. He seems to have a habit of grabbing opponents or just flapping around them. This could lead to more red cards - tomorrow he'll be marking Anthony Gordon, who will be a real handful, so I hope LA can control his tendency.
Other than that, I really rate him and hope we can sign him.

Howe would be daft not to play Wilson, he always scores against us.
