Muric 8 - kept the score respectable. It wouldn't have been unfair had we lost by 8 or 9
Assignon 6 - it's worrying when a loan player is one of the only ones who looks like they care
Vitinho 3 - he will never be a left back. Get him on the right wing or right back at a push. Criminal that he's starting ahead of Taylor
Esteve 5 - struggled with the pace and physicality of Wilson
O'Shea 5 - similar to Esteve, struggled with the pace of their forward line
Cullen 5 - not really in the game
Berge 6 - one of only three players who escape criticism
Brownhill 4 - huff and puff but as we know, he's not a PL player
JBL 3 - awful, just awful
Odobert 3 - see JBL
Foster 3 - time's up with him. What the hell was the tick about? He's clearly not ok but we can't afford him to continue like the passenger he is. Totally and utterly useless from first minute to last. Got in the way, non existent link up play, looked frightened to death of Dan Burn. A pathetic excuse of a performance from a man who's probably given us half a dozen decent games in 16 months. Has to go!

Ekdal 5 - see other CB's
JBG 6 - don't think he lost the ball once. A steady eddy he may be, but he's a calm, comfortable footballer who should walk into the team ahead of a few others (namely JBL or Brownhill today).

VK 3 - difficult to understand what he was watching. All Newcastle did was push up 10 yards and squeeze the space we had on the ball after the first 15 minutes. We didn't look like we had any idea how to react. We needed a different outlet, a long ball over the top for a Nathan Tella type to run onto or a Sam Vokes type target man to hold the ball and take the pressure of the defence, but that wasn't forthcoming from anyone. How the front three weren't all hooked at half time is beyond me. Jay would offer a lot more than either Foster or Fofana. All in all a complete disaster of a performance that sums up a miserable season.

Muric 7
Assignon 6
Vithinio 4
Esteve 4
O’Shea 4
Berge 5
Cullen 4
Brownhill 3
JBL 3
Oddobert 3
Foster 3

Bright 20 mins but the usual problem of not converting pressure into any meaningful efforts on goal. After that thought we played like we did at the start of the season which was dreadful. Tactical ineptness from the sidelines as well if you go 1 behind to a team like that your next job is to try and keep it to that and get back in the game.
