A good programme, a pity about the Burnley weather!

Really enjoyed it, although it's a sign I've been away from Burnley for too long when Mrs Croydon had to explain to me where the Aroma restaurant is

Just watched that on catch up and enjoyed it. A few familiar faces including Anwar and Johnny Russell as well as Doug Livesey who was my Geography teacher at St Ted’s playing a fleeting part prepping the pitch. All good blokes.

A great show overall, with lots of familiar faces and places.

My only criticism would be the constant referrals to the disturbances in 2001 - especially the footage. I didn't count, but I reckon they returned to it 6-7 times which was unnecessary.

The episode surrounded cricket, and one of England's greatest cricketers in the modern era came from Burnley but wasn't even mentioned.

If it weren't for Andi Oliver to unite us, Burnley would still be on fire.

Yes, but naan breads!

edit: I realise that 'naan bread' is a tautology. But yeah, naan breads!

The last bit was when she said EVERYONE came together: the faith leaders, suppliers, and the mums of the cheerleaders—that's it.

She probably did more harm than good.

The bit when she's walking around the cricket pitch with the counsellor, describing that she wants "bleachers there and a marquee over there," and the guy responds by describing her vision as 'exciting'—which is code for... "Why not hold it at somewhere like Burnley CC, Lowerhouse, or Colne, where they have purpose-built clubhouses?"

Then, during the credits, long after she's gone - they finally played the match at Burnley Cricket Club anyway

Belvedere have the club house facilities but it will be mainly used for football and rugby.
The cricket ground is only available for 2nd team standard.

The more I reflect on this programme, the more stupid it was. She went into a pie shop with an 'award-winning' baker of over 20 years... and then she went on to show how him how to make a mushroom pie...

She also said something that vegetarians say, which drives me up the wall. She said, 'Curry and roasted mushroom pie, mimics the Steak Pie"

No, no, no, it doesn't... Veggies, listen up. That thing you eat doesn't taste like Bacon, it doesn't taste like steak, it doesn't taste like chicken. Please stop saying it. It doesn't. That pie will taste like curry and mushroom pie, that's it.

Talk about over thinking a harmless magazine tv programme about food and places.
I’m half way through and it’s pretty interesting.
Anwar is a good bloke who has done a lot for Burnley in bringing faiths together. He does a lot of his good work through sport too.

But hey let’s have a thrombosis over a pie

There's a certain type of bloke who thinks moaning is funny. Best to leave them to it.
