Keep or sell list
My list would be ( I’ve discounted loans which are going back as per their deal )
Muric- keep
Trafford- sell if we can get money back or loan if not
Esteve - keep
O’Shea- keep
Ekdal- sell if can get money back
Taylor- worth another contract
Brownhill- sell for anything north of £7m. Worst passer of a ball I’ve ever seen for Burnley in prem, constantly loses possession.
Tresor- hope that he tears up the lower level if not sell back to Belgium for whatever we can get.
Ramsay-words fail me about his season hope he plays 100% better at the lower level. Not going to get anywhere near £15m so keep for now.
JBL- make it permanent if we can good player there.
Benson- start playing him again
Zaroury- reintegrate him
JBG- let go OOC
Odobert- keep
Koleosho- keep
Berge- keep
Cullen- keep
Bastien-sell
JAY Rod- sell for whatever we can get.
Foster- if a good offer comes sell
Amdouni- sell
Weghorst-sell
All in all massive charge needed so many have not made the grade and epic amounts have been wasted. We need to stop carrying so much quantity and really increase the quality with a smaller squad.
We need two starting strikers after selling the lot we have.
If we’re loaning players they should all have options to buy so we’re not in the Tella situation again. Hopefully Alan has worked that out now.

Re: Keep or sell list
We have done these lists to death. Top and bottom of it is you can only sell if someone wants them. Here lies the problem.

Re: Keep or sell list
Only two I really differ on listed above. I think JBG has shown in his cameo’s that his distribution and accuracy are well above the norm. I would give him another two years and look to move him deeper either to defensive midfield or as he has been used this season (if contracts can be agreed). Last thing I think we need is to be offloading experience… I could make the same case for Jay Rod, but for his limited impact this season; my question would be was it poor form or has time caught up with him.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 1:36 pm

I thought Ekdal would do a lot better at this level but he hasn’t for me really. No question he is good enough for championship.
I think Jay rods time has gone tbh he hasn’t had any impact this season and if we can get two good strikers in from offloading all those I’d be up for that. Time is not on his side either.
I know where you’re coming from with JBG but he doesn’t do enough in a season to warrant another contract for me. Has a couple of really good games then disappears for the others

Ramsay was superb for Boro when he was with them, don't write him off yet.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 1:36 pm

Ekdel- at twenty five I’d give him another couple of years to blossom, hopefully back in the Premier… when had be at his prime as a CH.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 3:20 pmI thought Ekdal would do a lot better at this level but he hasn’t for me really. Understand you position with GBG but When the team is purring that is when we will see consistency from most of this type of player.

I was going to like this comment right up until I saw Fostwr on that list123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 3:45 pmWorst case would be we lose:

I'd say worst case is if it involves losing Cullen.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 3:45 pmWorst case would be we lose:

Not rate foster? Thinking about potential budget we will only have foster and obafemi under contract and I’d much rather foster lead the line than obafemiCarlos the Great wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 5:55 pmI was going to like this comment right up until I saw Fostwr on that list

Re: Keep or sell list
I forgot about Beyer not sure he is up to the prem either and too injury prone. If we can profit on those two bring someone else in better maybe to fill one place.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 3:43 pmEkdel- at twenty five I’d give him another couple of years to blossom, hopefully back in the Premier… when had be at his prime as a CH.

Re: Keep or sell list
Ramsey only started eight games for Middlesbrough - also we aren’t likely to see him this side of ChristmasVegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 3:28 pmRamsay was superb for Boro when he was with them, don't write him off yet.
Re: Keep or sell list
JBG is top of the list for chances created and we also look more solid when he plays. We are actually 10th in the league on big chances created. Shame we didn't put them away.
Re: Keep or sell list
JBG has been criminally underused this season
Re: Keep or sell list
Players we need to keep:
Muric
Beyer
O'Shea
Esteve
Berge
Cullen
Massengo
Koleosho
Odobert
JBL
Benson
That would be the basis of my team with two new full backs and two strikers.

Keep as much of the squad as possible, other than those whose contracts are ending. Hopefully not much chopping and changing this time.

I found that it helps if you read the top half of this thread with the Magic Roundabout theme tune playing in the background...

Re: Keep or sell list
I’ve marked too many to stay, Particularly at CB. Hope we sign Esteve and JBL but with the changed circumstances it’s all up in the air. I expect a few solid loan players, another reason for more being sold than I’ve marked.
We saw how good we were in the championship so that gives us a solid platform to build on. All of Beyer, Ekdal & Al-Dakhil looked excellent since then we have added O’Shea and Delcroix who haven’t let us down plus, hopefully Esteve. Plenty of good widemen. Cullen & Brownhill were fine last time around. We desperately need a goalscorer or two.
There is a lot to be optimistic about.
I don’t know enough to comment but do we have any U21s close to breaking through?
