Not sure.
But he is the right profile for 'the project'

Would Fabregas come to Burnley?

This video is interesting, he knows his stuff

His Como team just been promoted and I’m sure he has an ownership stake there too.

Fabregas was acting as number 2 due to not having the coaching badges required, which he’s finishing this summer. Como were promoted and he’s set to take over as boss this season.

Could he be tempted away? Not sure.

Agree with jedi_master from the beginning of this thread. Either Moyes or Carrick.

He would be an obvious replacement for VK. Next up and coming manager. Then we can get £30m for him when Barcelona come for him after we get relegated in 2 years...

Leave to manage Burnley and make some sort of agreement with Pace and co to appease their multi club ownership nonsense

I hope Pace and co have had a contingency in mind ready for this scenario.

Would love for my concerns on this to be or to rest as I’m not sure they have .

The positive spin on this is that there are now clubs with highly regarded managers looking over their shoulders towards us.

We have some very good players for Championship level (Muric, O’Shea, Esteve, Cullen, Berge, Brownhill & Odobert to name a handful), a board who back their managers financially and don’t seem to interfere much with the playing side. That’s going to be an attractive proposition for a lot of ambitious coaches out there.

Big job for whoever comes in but it's one of the more attractive jobs going in football at the moment. Obviously crucial the club get this appointment right but it's a new dawn after a nightmare season. Looking forward to seeing where we go next.

Rosenior
Duff of course
Barnes

Rob Edwards if we can get him from Luton. If not Carrick, Knutsen or Rohl.

My shortlist would be

Knutsen
Moyes

Maybe Moyes is too big for us but we are a loyal club and he’s just been burnt by west ham . Could be a good match.

I am more excited by Knutsen though because of his play style being closer to what Kompany was trying to do but not quite getting there.

Sounds like Bellamy had already cleared his desk so it won't be him.

In any case, Bellamy has previously said to the media that he is unsuited to the job of a manager.

You have to be careful with someone like rohl form Wednesday, he had nothing to lose going there with the position they were in. Coming to a club just relegated from the prem is a whole different kind of pressure

Can't afford to get this one wrong and they certainly can't afford to get it spectacularly wrong so I reckon they'll go for an experienced older manager.

They couldn’t really afford to get it wrong after sacking Dyche and still went for a left field choice rather than a safe pick like Wilder. And it looks like they’re going to get circa £20m for this pick.

But we've spent a lot of money since then and £20m goes into the bank, not the new manager fund.

One vital thing that everyone seems to have missed for this next manager discussion is how will their name fit into the "xxx's Claret and Blue Army!" chant?

They key thing here of course is the number of syllables in the managers name, four being the ideal (think of "Jimmy Mullen's Claret and Blue Army" as the gold standard), three or five syllables could work depending on the name but anything else is going to be a struggle.

So let's have a look at the some of the current crop of suggestions:

David Moyes - Certainly workable despite being a syllable short and has the advantage of having his surname end in an s, so "David Moyses's Claret and Blue Army" fits the bill nicely. Only downside is there may be some opposition from grammar nazis who insist it should be David Moyes' without the addition s.
Chantometer score: 8

Steve Cooper - An example of where a three syllable name doesn't really work. Could use "Stevie Cooper" as a possible workaround but it's a no from me.
Chantometer score: 5

Mark Robins - Worse than Steve Cooper. "Marky Robins" isn't going to fly and "Mark Robins's Claret and Blue Army" is about as unwieldy as trying to cycle whilst carrying a broom.
Chantometer score: 3

Michael Carrick - Now we're talking. "Michael Carrick's Claret and Blue Army!". Perfect fit.
Chantometer score: 10

Danny Rohl - Another three syllable candidate but this one works better than the previous two. Main issue is there are probably better songs to go with that name, my personal favourite being to the tune of Gary Glitter's Rock and Roll: "Danny Roh-ohl, Hey! Danny Rohl"
Chantometer score: 7

Liam Rosenior - Five syllables but works quite well, especially given the speed at which the CFS sing.
Chantometer score: 8

Will Still: Dreadful.
Chantometer score: 1

Kjetil Knutsen - I'm assuming this is pronounced "Kyetil Nutsen", in which case it fits very nicely. Loses a point because once we hear the correct pronunciation we'll likely end up with multiple versions.
Chantometer score: 9

Final Score: Michael Carrick wins! Alan Pace, you know what to do ...

Ask their fans if his football was ‘decent’. I think you’ll find that was the main reason they wanted him out. Complete opposite style to what’s been built here over the past few seasons.

Are people really considering Bellamy? Do people really change that much? I’d like to see a proper manager come in. Steve Cooper would be my choice. It’s gonna be an interesting few months.
