Apologies for that. I'm not expecting you to reel off 10 random championship squadsbumba wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 8:51 pmHaven't got time to go through the championship squad lists for the last god knows how many years but there has been some good teams in that division over the years. To say the squad we've just been relegated with has been so poor it's quite funny how highly some fans rate the squad.

I've misunderstood you, for some reason I thought you were saying we weren't in the top 10 squads for next season.

Re: Kompany to Bayern Munich?
I can also confirm the 14/1 with Bet365, prior to our first game of the season, away to Huddersfield. After the first round of games were completed and before Game 2, Bet365 had us at 15/2. Although our form took a little while to really take off, our odds remained around 15/2 for a few weeks until they shortened. I don't think that Bet365 ever had them any higher than 15/2 or 8 /1 after that. I expected us to go out in price after the draws but it didn't happen unfortunately. I was hoping to get a bit more in the region of 10/1 but it never happened.

We are 9/1 on B365

Back to Kompany to Munich, when do we start wondering if he is actually going there and could it have fallen through?
I accept he isn't coming back here.

Re: Kompany to Bayern Munich?
It took literally weeks to complete his deal to us and everyone was asking if it’d fallen through. It’s been one week since the Bayern link dropped. These things take time, unfortunately.Awayfromburnley wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 9:26 amBack to Kompany to Munich, when do we start wondering if he is actually going there and could it have fallen through?

Bayern aren't daft & I think the wait is due to compensation being negotiated. Due to his suspected lucrative contract & our relegation I actually think we aren't in a strong position we need him to go probably more than they need to take him if truth be told.Awayfromburnley wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 9:26 amBack to Kompany to Munich, when do we start wondering if he is actually going there and could it have fallen through?

Re: Kompany to Bayern Munich?
The sooner this Charlatan is confirmed as not our problem anymore, the better.
He massively over achieved in his first season, and massively under achieved in his second. A second season where he broke any momentum with his idiotic first selections, destroyed team morale, failed to learn and adapt, and saddled the club with an unbalanced, over paid for, squad.

Re: Kompany to Bayern Munich?
It never ceases to amaze me how fans must be labelled as:
‘Dyche in’ , ‘Dyche out’
‘kompany in’ ‘Kompany Out’
Support the manager, support the club, support the team.
I’ve never wanted anything other than the best for my club at all times.
That wont change.

I guess it depends on what you think is best for the club isn’t it? That’s why people have differing opinions.Notsosuperstevedavis wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 10:25 amIt never ceases to amaze me how fans must be labelled as:

The article does mention Bellamy but it contradicts information given on here.Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 10:46 amWow. That’s quite a big opportunity he’s turned down.
Did Bellamy turn him down too or was he never asked to follow Kompany?

Re: Kompany to Bayern Munich?
No thanks.
Re: Kompany to Bayern Munich?
No disrespect to either but
No to Bellamy as manager - if promotion is needed financially then we need a manager with some experience
No to Jackson - I thought he had the title of Defensive Coach and, if so, look where that got us last season

Re: Kompany to Bayern Munich?
Like last time there are probably lots of clauses and addons for the lawyers to sift through. It took an age for him to take the job here so im expecting the same here. We need him gone ASAP though so we can get on with finding and employing his successor.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 9:37 amBayern aren't daft & I think the wait is due to compensation being negotiated. Totally agree on both. Could cause an issue though with the new manager wanting to bring in his trusted backroom staff and coaches

Anyone got a link regarding the Bellamy thing?
We can’t give him the job if we are serious about going up . Assistant yes, manager no.

Re: Kompany to Bayern Munich?
I’d be fairly happy to retain both Bellamy and Jackson under a new manager/head coach.
It’d give us a bit of continuity at least.

Because last time we played at this level we lost three games all season and walked it, the Premier league is a different animalStan Tastic wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 12:55 pmWhy do we need continuity from a disastrous season? What it needs is a reset.

Re: Kompany to Bayern Munich?
There were initial reports that Kompany was taking Jackson with him but that is not the case I now believe and for now he remains at Burnley. From what I'm told, Bellamy has gone although I don't know whether there is a chance of that changing with the manager leaving.
But for backroom staff, in my view we need whoever the new manager wants more than who's left with us.

I always try to subscribe to the line quoted above and support the decisions made by the club and the management even though I sometimes feel uneasy about the events unfolding in front of my eyes.Notsosuperstevedavis wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 10:25 amIt never ceases to amaze me how fans must be labelled as:

And won it with a totally different squad - a squad for whom Maatsen, Tella, Harwood-Bellis, Barnes to name just four were key.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 12:59 pmBecause last time we played at this level we lost three games all season and walked it, the Premier league is a different animal

Tony, do you think Bellamy left on the basis he thought Kompany would be staying but now that has changed is perhaps wishing he hadnt ?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 1:12 pmThere were initial reports that Kompany was taking Jackson with him but that is not the case I now believe and for now he remains at Burnley. You can't name two team's stronger than ours in the championship, Harwood-Bellis was part of a Southampton team that let 63 league goal's in and Barnes scored how many goal's last season after only he scored 10 league goalsClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 1:13 pmAnd won it with a totally different squad - a squad for whom Maatsen, Tella, Harwood-Bellis, Barnes to name just four were key.

I really don't care how many goals Barnes scored last season or the season before, I think it was a key player in our promotion, as was Harwood-Bellis, as was Maatsen, as was Tella.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 1:31 pmYou can't name two team's stronger than ours in the championship, Harwood-Bellis was part of a Southampton team that let 63 league goal's in and Barnes scored how many goal's last season after only he scored 10 league goals
