Or 100% season ticket holders in attendance. I must admit, I’d be thinking twice about making the 80 mile round trip.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 2:27 amif it's Lampard or Parker I'm not sure there will be many walk ons
Re: Next manager
Parker & Lampard would be slightly underwhelming. Not totally against them (the former does have 2 promotions) but was really hoping we could build on VK’s work. Feels like they’d be a backwards step really and suggests Pace got lucky with Kompany rather than it being good judgement.

One thing Garlick and Kilby were good at and that was choosing managers.

The issue with Parker is, if Alan Pace is thinking about ‘project’ then yes Parker has experience of getting out of the championship but he has experience of being relegated and sacked twice in the prem. Then when trying to go abroad to build on his management style gets sacked again
Re: Next manager
Whoever is selected as manager I'm sure if he gets results and achieves promotion no one will care

A mate of mine text me about van Nistelrooy this morning. Hadn’t considered him. Done a bit of digging since the 6am text message and he certainly looks an interesting option.

That’s interesting that he happened to be the most recent person to do an episode on the coaches voice. Read an article that since leaving PSV he has turned down jobs because he really wants to manage in EnglandIghtenhill_Claret wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 8:06 amA mate of mine text me about van Nistelrooy this morning. Go and get van nistlerooy
He would tick the ‘big name’ box and young manager who would likely appeal to the players. Could bring Foster on, you’d think.
Wouldn’t be against RVN at all.
What a striker he was, by the way.

If we got Ruud, could we see Wout back in the fold? He could be golden boot material at Championship level and a great foil for Foster, Amdouni etc.

I know season before last when he managed PSV he won true cup and finished 2nd and it was a disaster season for Ajax. It would certainly be a left field appointment but certainly has the name around football.

I'd certainly be happy with Ruud. He seems to have an increased confidence about him these days. I like that he values a combination of youth and experience. I also like a mid to high block as it gets the crowd onside much quicker. Might risk my first fiver, just waiting for VK's confirmation.

Re: Next manager
RVN seems to fall out with people regularly. Left Man Utd under a cloud. Fell out with Coaches and Players at PSV. Not sure if he’d be the right person to lead a split dressing room.

Re: Next manager
According to reports he fell out with his players and two of his assistants.
https://amp.theguardian.com/football/20 ... al-affairs
“ Van Nistelrooy arrived as a replacement for Roger Schmidt, but had an early setback when they were dumped out of the Champions League by Rangers in the playoff round. Victory over Ajax on penalties in the Dutch Cup final could not mask the tension between the coach and his players. There were are also reports in the Netherlands that he had a strained relationship with assistants Rutten and Andre Ooijer”.
