Next manager
Re: Next manager
Which number of clubs exactly? Leicester possibly, yet they are getting a 6-15 points penalty deduction according to reports today, not ideal.
Looks like it’s between Lampard and Parker then.

Can only imagine he’s under consideration for Leicester job unless someone is about to pot their manager.

Re: Next manager
Disappointed that Cooper isn’t interested. Onto the next then. Would like Moyes but that’s incredibly unlikely. Don’t like the sound of any of the others mentioned.
Re: Next manager
I think we all know deep down that it will be Lampard, assuming he wants it.
So be it.
So be it.

Re: Next manager
Bit gutted about that one... He must be waiting for a PL job - onto the next one!
Re: Next manager
We haven't dodged him, he's dodged us.
Could be Lampard or Robins or someone wacky like Wicky from the Wankdorf.

Re: Next manager
Personally don’t believe the media in all this, too many lies and leaked fake stories. More like politics than football.
Strongly suspect BFC were not interested in Cooper, they want a ‘name’. Few in the US will have heard of Cooper, and those that have, don’t care.
The bit I’m not sure ALK get is the poor success rate of ex elite players as managers. Let’s be honest, so far Vincent has failed too because we had to be up by end of year 2 and staying there, not back where we started with no manager and a tougher league (Leeds) to compete with.

I'd rather we signed Wickey than Lampard or Parker.. to be honest, I'd rather have Brian Laws back than Frank the plank

Re: Next manager
Hope they’ve more imagination than Frank Lampard . Would be nice to hear some concrete links soon
Re: Next manager
Nothing to suggest Wicky would be a good appointment. Won the Swiss league with a side that was winning it most years and still got sacked. Also got sacked from an MLS club. Lampard had jobs at EPL clubs that were on a hiding to nothing, not saying I want him but he’s surely not worse than Wicky.

Leeds won't make the playoffs next year. Not worried about them at all.

He didn’t want to come to Burnley so that comment is in the same bracket as “signing Kloop would have shown intent”.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 10:08 pmYes same, that would have been a signing that shows real

After Cooper and Moyes, I can’t say I’m enthused by any of the other names mentioned.

Can’t say I’m too bothered about Cooper. He seems permanently stoned to me. Not sure how many PL clubs will want him. The Lampard thing must be a joke. Appointing him will be just throwing away another season.

He could have two heads and be that ugly he needs a bag on each. If he’s the best man for the job, I don’t care what he looks like.

Will take a very brave manager to go to Leicester. Their fans down here fearing a 9-16 point deduction for the new season

Re: Next manager
Just seen on “X” somebody had asked Alan Nixon about the Burnley job - and his reply was that he’d already posted the top 3 names .
If the top three are indeed
Cooper - apparently rejected the job
Lampard - please no
Parker - again a no from me
Then I feel a lot of fans are going to be very disappointed

Re: Next manager
I know a few on here hang on every Nixon word… for me he’s just a scattergun journalist who occasionally gets a rumour. The rest of the time he just fires out his hunches and hope they land, while those hanging on his words forget the rest of what he came out with. We all know he USED to have OC’s ear but I’m far from convinced he’s been reliable since then.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 12:03 pmJust seen on “X” somebody had asked Alan Nixon about the Burnley job - and his reply was that he’d already posted the top 3 names .

Re: Next manager
Lampard would have the same problem as Laws. We can all see the underwhelming record and however much you insist fans ‘give him a chance’, he’ll be on the back foot from day one.
Fair to point out the unfairness etc, but that’s how it’ll be.

Can’t understand why some Burnley fans think we’re to good for the likes of Lampard etc? There’s not many managers who don’t get sacked in their careers, just look at Muriniho & Anchelotti.

It’s not just the getting sacked it’s his whole management record, I can actually understand Scott Parker more than Lampard because he’s actually been promoted twice.Stockbrokerbelt wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 1:02 pmCan’t understand why some Burnley fans think we’re to good for the likes of Lampard etc? Re: Next manager
Managers like Cooper, who have been sacked by Premier league clubs will still be getting Premier league wages, until their contract runs out.
They don't get paid off anymore.
It would take good jobs to get them out the garden

Re: Next manager
I’m not a Lampard fan, but I really don’t get the ridicule he gets on here. I think the only full season he had was at Derby, and he very nearly took them up. He’s also done quite well blooding young players
