Thanks for sharing it's an interesting video. I've actually been to the Renato Dall'Ara to watch Bologna - many years ago.clarethomer wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 4:01 pmWas watching this video earlier and what I took from the video is how there is a learning curve in management and where a manager is less experienced, looking at historic performance is less predictable to determine the future ones.

The problem is that there is so many variables to a football team that predicting success based upon one variable, the manager, is always going to be difficult.

Craig Bellamy has become 11/4 favourite on Skybet. I’d go for him and Mike Jackson.

Bellamy cannot seriously be an option . Il be happy when we hear some concrete links to managers so we can see where we are going. The uncertainty makes it drag on and fills you full of Lamps and Scotty Parker dread , not with a side dish of Bellamy as boss

I am hoping for one of the following: Van Nistelrooy, Carlos Tevez, Eric Roy, Gianfranco Zola , Steven Defour or Claude Makelele ..but its going to likely be Neil Lennon with Bellamy as assistant or a Lampard/Terry combo. It may even be the case that they bring in that long haired former lpool assistant Buvac. ...we need bielsa, I'm going to have trouble sleeping tonight me...what's Di Canio up to...

Come across an Italian manager , Thiago Motto, who left his club last week even though they offered him an extension on his contract after a successful season.
Haven't got a clue if he wants to work in England but seems to fit ALKs profile.

I’d have thought if there’d have been a fall out between Kompany and Bellamy, it’d have been leaked to the press and we’d already know about it.

Re: Next manager
The “Next Manager” markets really are just for novelty bets and maintaining some fan interest in the process of who might be appointed. The only time they are really a firm indicator is when a prospective manager gets backed down to around 1/14. As with Maresca going to Chelsea the other day.

Re: Next manager
Last time round my two picks were Kompany and Knutsen, as they were both interesting and something different from what we were used to.
This time round it's more a case of who I don't want as I don't think there are many standouts, not seen any particularly exciting candidates.

Of all those in the betting, I’d go for the left field choice of Raphael Wicky. Won the Swiss league with two different teams. Might even get Amdouni playing too

Carlos Corberan at West Brom is on our radar apparently according to some website
Re: Next manager
I had him down as my early favourite for the job, done well in the Championship with two teams with small budgets. I saw a bit of his Huddersfield side and he got them playing some decent stuff.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 8:12 amCarlos Corberan at West Brom is on our radar apparently according to some website

Re: Next manager
With the disappointing news that Cooper may have ruled himself out, I think Corberan would be my preference for the job - if we can land him. He's a very gifted coach and he's outperformed what might have been expected of him at both Huddersfield and West Brom, and of course has a promotion on his CV as assistant to Bielsa. Given the link between Bielsa and Guardiola and therefore Kompany's style it's hard to imagine we'd find a candidate with more continuity of aim.

Re: Next manager
I’d love Moyes tbh.
Why??
Doesn’t really play the trend of “fancy” football so if successful here wouldn’t be wanted by the tops teams. He’s also been at higher teams than us if you will (Everton/West Ham) so might not fancy playing that game again. I can see him coming here and doing a Dyche style job tbh. Knows the PL well and might just see a promotion campaign as a fresh challenge.

If it's the Bayern interview then I stopped listening after question 2 where he says his teams are aggressive and high paced with flair players being given the will to operate freely or some similar thing that was nothing like we saw last year.Steddyman wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 8:34 amSome wise self deprecating words from Kompany in his leaving video
