Darko
(Apologies if this has been posted cant see it.)
Churlinov on his way back to the Turf after Schalke declined to sign him permanently. (Burnley Express)
Ok for the Championship?

Re: Darko
Not on the evidence of his , admittedly few, outings for us last time out in the division. The size of our squad really bothers me in that we must be effectively wasting a lot of money on wages for non-contributory players.
Re: Darko
When I first saw the lad I thought we’ve got a player here. I still believe we had too many players that restricted him and others. The new Manager I would have thought will look at all the players before making any decisions.
Re: Darko
We’ve not seen a great deal of him to judge him fairly, I suppose.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 12:31 pm(Apologies if this has been posted cant see it.)

However, if he hasn’t cut the mustard in a team that finished tenth in the German equivalent of the Championship, it doesn’t really suggest he would be of the level that we need next season.

Re: Darko
Didn't see much of him but what we did see was the one on one miss at West Brom to make it 2-0 and then was awful at Stoke away and got brought off just after half time.

Re: Darko
Funny that so many think Churlinov hasn't played enough to be fairly assessed, yet Tresor who has only played a whole 195 minutes more has played enough to be shown as a busted flush.
Personally i don't think either of them have had long enough to be judged fairly, so am hopeful the healthy competition allows the new manager to assess everyone individually.

Re: Darko
Signed in January after being out injured/ill for half the season
As per the link, he lost weight and muscle mass due to his illness
That takes time to recover and then he has to reach the required fitness levels to play professional football

Saw enough of Tresor in Genk for me to decide £15m was £15m too much tbf.Foshiznik wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 1:28 pmFunny that so many think Churlinov hasn't played enough to be fairly assessed, yet Tresor who has only played a whole 195 minutes more has played enough to be shown as a busted flush.

Re: Darko
So a player with 24 assists and 8 goals in Jupiler Pro League in a season is worth no more than zero?!1989_claret wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 2:03 pmSaw enough of Tresor in Genk for me to decide £15m was £15m too much tbf.
Did he sleep with your partner or something?

You just have to hope the new manager will be made to fully understand he has to have a "clean slate" approach and try to maximise the potential of each of our players.

Re: Darko
He would have to perform considerably better than he did on his few previous outings. From what I’ve seen he looks a long way short of the level required.

That would be my take. And that was playing in the Championship.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 4:24 pmHe would have to perform considerably better than he did on his few previous outings. From what I’ve seen he looks a long way short of the level required.

Re: Darko
Apart from Stoke mentioned above, he played the first hour at Ipswich in the cup and most of the game at Reading having come on for Tella and he was every bit as poor. If there’s a good player in there, I haven’t seen it.dougcollins wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2024 4:27 pmThat would be my take. And that was playing in the Championship.

Re: Darko
He never looked good enough in our u21s to be honest - the only reason he’s still a Burnley player is because we’ve not been able to move him on.Poulton-le-Claret wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 3:55 pmBit of a an old post to come back on Charlie!

Re: Darko
Got a few this year in Poland but not done much internationally and is obviously not good enough for the level we are at, but seems a good character. A shame for him as the implications for his career earnings would be huge.

One time it was looking like Darko was going to be the best attacking signing
