Kieren Grimshaw returned to haunt his former club Accrington to help Rishton to a 45 run win at The iMEP Arena in the JWL Bitter Group. The Rishton professional hit 56, including two fours and two sixes. He added 61 with Brad Boddie (a run a ball 40) after the loss of Richie Fox (4) and Luke Eddleston (9) in Rishton's 131-4. Accrington professional Jurie Snyman (19) and Jon Hayhurst (19) put on 34 but after Snyman fell to Adam Hussain (2-17), Andrew Hickey (3-9) sent back Ali Hasham (1), Hayhurst and Emile Haratbar (11) to effectively end the contest with Accrington 68-5. The first match to finish was at The Log Cabin where holders Greenmount cruised to a 145 run win over Norden in the JWL MPA Group. Tom Heaton top scored with 76, including ten fours and a six in Greenmount's 180-4. He added 93 with professional Jacques Snyman (54 from 31 balls with five fours and three sixes) for the 1st wicket. James Tierney hit 89, including five fours and six sixes with his opening partner professional James Price hitting 71 with eight fours and three sixes to help Middleton post 209-3. Rhys Tierney then took 3-25 and Tom Rutter picked up 3-28 to bowl Rawtenstall out for 150 in the 19th over. A brilliant innings of 144 from sub professional Marquis Ackerman helped Littleborough to a 128 run win at Rochdale. Ackerman smashed eleven sixes and a dozen fours in hitting 144 from just 55 balls. He added 145 for the 3rd wicket with skipper Ryan Miskella (24 not out) in Littleborough's 221-3. Littleborough's nine pronged attack restricted Rochdale to 93-8 with skipper Oli Makin hitting 24.
