Re: Next manager
I agree Craig Bellamy has done well, he's had personal issues which he is having a daily struggle to work with and should be commended for this.
The issues of mental health and depression are a lifetime of struggle and Craig needs understanding and support not mindless abuse from" perfect " individuals

Well don't tell me that Lamps is a better option, because he's not.DCWat wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 1:16 pmDid Jackson do very well in the few games he was given? A slight new manager bounce followed by more dross is my memory of it.
The new manager, whoever it may be, has to give us the greatest chance of promotion. Fail on that for a season or two and we could be in trouble.
There must be better options than Bellamy and Jackson!!

Re: Next manager
As it stands, I’d be happy with Lampard. It’s hugely exaggerated to say he’s a failure as a manager and already write him off so early into his career.
And who’s to say he wouldn’t want to keep Bellamy and Jackson on?

Re: Next manager
Why was my supportive message of Bellamy deleted? All I said was he comes across as a decent bloke these days despite how much of an annoying opposition player he was?
Can’t even post supportive messages now? Vicious rumours only

Feels very much like we get to pick a brand new car, but have a choice between a Lada and an Austin Allegro
And we are all arguing the toss about it

As I understand it, it’s more likely Parker than Lampard but both have been ‘in the building’.
Not impressed by either.
Really hope the rumours heard about a DOF and a manager are true.

Not sure it has been mentioned but apparently FL been seen at Crowood today.

I don’t see anything of any substance, upon which to make the assertionGordaleman wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 4:34 pmWell don't tell me that Lamps is a better option, because he's not.
that Bellamy would be a better option than Lampard.
Such an appointment would look like a huge gamble, particularly with Jackson as his number two.
I’m not saying that Lampard would be my choice, I just don’t see the logic in suggesting Bellamy as a preference, and certainly not for a season that is hugely important to the club.
It has already become more difficult with Leeds’ deal with Red Bull, which will presumably make their FFP issues disappear pretty quickly.

Re: Next manager
Certainly Lampard over Bellamy. I've even seen some fans want Barnes to retire from playing and become our next manager.

It would be such a Burnley thing to do, to hire Bellamy because the players apparently like him and then sell all the players anyway

Re: Next manager
If Bellamy left us could you see him managing another Championship club fairly soon.I think we all know the answer, so why should a club just relegated from the PL instate him as their manager . He may be a thoroughly decent guy, but coupled with his recent well documented mental health problems, why pile the pressure of promotion on his shoulders. AP has to simply get the best fit for this club, and quickly as there is much work to be done

Re: Next manager
Wasn’t old enough to drive at the time however I recall Allegro was aka an Austin All Aggro, I assume that they weren’t too attractive and unreliable. I do remember my next door neighbour loved his Lada’s, he had a few of them. Can we throw FSO Cars in there too?

Re: Next manager
Whoever is named next manager will have to have a sell on factor if he does well.
That rules out Bellamy and Jackson - no resale value there.
The potential to make money is more important than the long term club propects.

Re: Next manager
I must be at the final stage of the grieving process as I would actually not be too unhappy with Lampard.
As a player and a name in world football he is/was a level above Kompany, and a bit of a media darling.
His managerial record is not as bad as some make out, the Everton and when he jumped to Chelsea in that turbulent time is what he seems to be remembered for, rather than the 4th place and going close with Derby.
I actually think he would do well with our younger players.

My father had a beige Allegro when I passed my test and I thought I was in deep **** three months later when I pranged it, but having had it confirmed as an insurance write-off, the old man seemed surprisingly happy about it.

Mum had an orange Allegro. Only thing I remember is that it had a square steering wheel. Very odd.
I realise posts like this may annoy people eagerly awaiting news of a new manager. Maybe we need a crap cars from our childhood thread.

Heard good things on here from other posters re Carlos Corberan.
What are the chances of us getting him?
Where is he in the latest betting?

If we're going for a name I'd prefer van Nistlerooy to Lampard. I think he fits us better having a background in youth management before senior management.
