Re: Message from VK
A mix of the good and bad , i think it's fair to say....
Promotion season and winning the title at Deadwood
Very good.
Last season and some of the bewildering tactics, team selections and subs use....bad. A wasted season.
On balance , think there was more to like than not.
And like others say, we move on.
Thanks Vinny.

Good luck Kompany you will need it as you can't treat players like Kane like you did to some of ours and it will be very interesting to see if them players now want to stay at Burnley...

Re: Message from VK
I was only interested in what VK had to say to us fans when he was the Burnley manager, and I was more than happy from when he arrived until the last day of the season just ended. He had my full support.
That ended when he joined Bayern.
My support for Burnley's next manager begins when the new announcement is made until he also leaves, just as night follows day.
My support for the players continues, when playing well, playing poorly, or somewhere in between. They will have good games, hopefully some will be very good. They will have bad games, with some of them poor, but they will always be BFC players, trying to be better on the day than our opponents and trying to win games. I'll be supporting Muric and Trafford until one of them leaves. I'll have favourites, but I'll treat them all as if they are my favourite player.
Get behind them all, support them all.
Criticise our opponents, our opposing managers and anyone not Burnley, but keep it as respectful as possible.
Exceptions can be made for opposing clubs of your choice, as in, B rovers, D Leeds, etc, etc.

Re: Message from VK
Agreed, I don't feel inclined to start assessing him until we see what happens next year.NottsClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 6:58 amFeels like we’d need the dust to settle for a few years to make our minds up on VK. One unbelievably great season, and one truly awful.. and then goes again. Hard to assess right now really.
Depends too if his signings prove to be fruitful investments - like several of Eddie Howe’s - or a financial disaster that ruin us.
I would say one thing with midfielders like Cullen, Cork, Brownhill and Berge along with raw talent like Odobert, Kolosheo, Amdouni and Foster we should have been more competitive and earned more than 24 points. Particularly after Xmas when Assignon and Esteve joined to bolster the defence.
That midfield is at least as good than the one Sean Dyche had when we were last relegated because Westwood was a very good player but his legs had gone by the end. Had we gone down with 35 points, I think that would have been more acceptable...!
You can't have it both ways. You can't say we signed some good players and then say 24 points is acceptable.

Re: Message from VK
Nice sentiment and I agree, but it won't make for much of a discussion forum unless you want to spend your day slagging off Rovers or Leeds. Not that easy when you are in the PL and they are not...Darnhill Claret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 10:56 amI was only interested in what VK had to say to us fans when he was the Burnley manager, and I was more than happy from when he arrived until the last day of the season just ended. There are some absolute plonkers on this board.
I'm so glad that this board is not representative of our match-going fanbase!

The tweet was ok, just what was needed, but the video reeked of forced insincerity

ClaretPete001, I know, you're absolutely right and I fully accept that, or I wouldn't spend any time on here.
I actually don't mind different views to my own. If there wasn't opinions that I disagreed with, I'd hardly ever post at all. If I agree with a post, or like a
post I'll hit the like button. I only tend to post when I have a 'different' opinion.
Although I do hate opinions expressed with abusive language towards others.
There is no need for it, but it says everything about each individual that has to be that aggressive. Pet hate I'm afraid.

Re: Message from VK
No animosity to VK, but I think he has fumbled this quite badly.
Pretty much what he said in his tweet in a slightly longer video would have sufficed. The fact it was only 50 seconds, and all he could mention was beating Blackburn home and away reeked of a last minute "quick lets get it over with" situation.
Anyway it's done now, let's move on. I'm glad he actually put something out there, even though it looked a bit rushed.

Re: Message from VK
Absolutely agree Ric - why not just record the tweet as a video? At first I thought the video the club put on social was a snippet of a longer message!
