Have we ever beaten a Pullis team ?

Post by 7decades » Tue Nov 22, 2016 8:59 am

I`m struggling to think of any occasion at any of the teams he has managed, maybe Gillingham ?

Edit: September 2003, at the Britannia

January 2005, at the Britannia:

September 2006, also at the Brit:

In fact, we have a fairly decent record there looking back.

Can we formally apply for WBA to play their games against us at the Britannia then?

There's only one L in Pulis
There's only one L in Pulis

There's only one L in Pulis

Looks like he is Welsh of possibly Italian lineage.

Based upon losses becoming draws I think we'll stay up. :-)

I remember us losing 2-0 away at Gillingham in 98. I think Ade scored both. I was sat right behind Chris Waddle when one of our players kicked the ball out of the ground. One of our fans shouted "Chris, we'll have to buy them a new one"! Waddle replied "What with"?

How times have changed.

I rather stupidly found it funny to start a chant of "Pulis Out!" whilst walking back to the railway station in Stoke after an away win. Without any Claret on my person and baring a midlands accent, I imagined it would be hilarious.

Unfortunately it worked too well. The Stoke neanderthals around us joined in immediately and started discussing "our" tactical problems and team selection. I nearly drowned on my own hubris.

Pulis got them to the Prem that season.

That team in '03... with the exception of Blake, awful. Just shows what a top job Stan did for the club.

Jensen, West, May, Todd, Camara, Chadwick, Branch, Grant, Farrelly, Blake, Facey.
Subs: Weller, Ian Moore, Alan Moore, Chaplow, O'Neill.
