He's been a First Team manager for less than a season...It Is What It Is wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 4:59 pmTerrific article.
Cut, copy, paste and leave a print of it on AP's desk.
How could you not give him the job after reading that!!.
Massive name in global football, mid forties, great experience on and off the pitch as a top class striker, player and club manager... and a bloody decent bloke.
Even mentioning RVN' s name as a potential Burnley FC manager shows massive intent and how far our club is going in the football world.
We have to stick by AP and the board whatever, ( I know making them and their investors money is the name of the game), but I think their passion and commitment is admirable.

Re: Next manager
RVN with Bellamy and Jacko as assistants would be my absolute dream scenario.HahaYeah wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 5:05 pmFrom the article:
It wasn’t a question of what football I wanted to play, though. It was more about, with the players we have, what is the best strategy to get the maximum out of the season? We knew we had to sell players for massive amounts of money, and that meant selling our best players in the winter break. So it was mostly about adapting to the situation rather than implementing my own philosophy or style of play, as I had done with Jong PSV and the youth teams.
It was a fantastic process, though, because I learned a lot through analysing the squad, analysing individual players, talking a lot with the coaching staff about how to get the maximum out of the players. Is it the high press, is it a mid-block, is it counter-attacking or sustained attacks in the final third?
Wonder how he would get along with Bellamy and Jackson?
Brings in fresh ideas and style with some continuity to hopefully help the transition.

Do Managers have to go through licence/certification training before they can apply or is that just a preferred option?

Hope there's something in RVN. Seems the type that a lot of our young players might want to stick around to play for. We don't want to go into next season with a squad that's half heartedly playing for the club and manager. I think RVN gets the players and fans on side.

Think we may have our new Manager in RVN, or indeed I hope we do.
He’s got that buzz about him that NONE of the other linked Managers have.
I’ve got excited all of a sudden.

Re: Next manager
Yes is the answer but not the same as in the Premier League. You need a Pro Licence to manage in the Premier League but a UEFA A Licence, the one lower down, is sufficient to manage in the Football League.

Re: Next manager
Most managers bring in their own people. When Dyche was sacked, a lot of his back room team went with him, but Kompany came in and replaced even more such as Mark Howard who is also now at Everton.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 6:22 pmDo we suspect that Bellamy leaves if a new man comes in?

Why does everyone seem to want to shoehorn Bellamy in with every manager linked?? Any manager that comes in would bring their own assistant with them, Bellamy would then leave. Jackson may well stay on as a coach

Because I think most have taken to Bellamy in the way he conducted himself in Kompany’s absence.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 6:29 pmWhy does everyone seem to want to shoehorn Bellamy in with every manager linked?? Plus I think there’s a lot to be said for continuity since he was part of a team that romped the Championship. He’ll know all the training routines, the patterns they were working on, the players, any issues they’ve had and conversations they’ve taken place, their strengths and weaknesses, the summer transfer plans, etc, etc.
I think you can get a lot of that from Jackson if he stays too, but think there would be a lot of benefits to keeping them both.
That said, I expect he’d want his own team and I’m not sure Bellamy would stay if he were rejected, so it’s unlikely it would just be my preference.
Does anyone know who Ruud has as his back room staff?

RVN sounds like exactly what we need. Like Kompany with a constant desire to learn, but in contrast to Kompany knows that he has to adapt the system to the players he has, not the other way around. Yes please.

RVN has achieved more as a manager than what kompany had when he joined Burnley, with RVN it’s less about the fact he’s a big name ex player than what Lampard is or Tudor who has managed 10 clubs in 9 years

Re: Next manager
He’s managed a season, won two trophies and finished second in his league. Kompany had managed two seasons and won nothing, finishing 3rd and 4th, that didn’t turn out too badly for us? I am not sure why we must hold Van Nistelrooy to a different standard than Vinny - neither had experience of The Championship.

He finished playing 12 years ago...what has he been doing for the other 11 years ? Kompany went straight into management on retirement. To be clear I am not against RVN , I just want people to look at his management CV . If he was a lesser known Dutch coach with such a record would folk be so keen ?jedi_master wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2024 7:50 pmHe’s managed a season, won two trophies and finished second in his league. - clearly very interested in learning about how the tactical side of the game
- has learned from so many of the worlds best managers - Hiddink, SAF, Pelligrini, Ancelotti and from coming up against Slot
- prioritises winning above philosophy but likes attacking football
- the pride/enjoyment he clearly gets from coaching younger players
- talks about his career being a gradual build through the levels and how that benefited him, perhaps the opposite approach of Kompany
