Re: John terry
Interview turned sour after Terry asked to see a picture of Pace's wife.

Re: John terry
Looks like he was in Capri, Italy all week.
And they definitely wouldn’t be interviewing at Crow Wood!

Re: John terry
Mainly if he was in Italy I suspect. Crow Wood is certainly a current fav for ‘quiet’ meetings and team stop offs. I only know this because my niece was working there until very recently and she was often star struck by some of the clientele (though stuck to her promise to them not to share actual names)

Re: John terry
I’d have thought that keeping it away from local places to be as low key as possible would be the idea , maybe I’m wrong .

I think Crow Wood’s strength is their attention to client confidentiality, they seem to be veryv careful when appointing staff, as mentioned above.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 5:04 pmI’d have thought that keeping it away from local places to be as low key as possible would be the idea , maybe I’m wrong .

Re: John terry
I’ve no doubt of their professionalism towards this , but I have worked on site there a few times wandering around the grounds and you do see a lot of people come and go. This is what made me think it’s a bit too close to home if you want to keep things absolutely under wrapselwaclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 5:10 pmI think Crow Wood’s strength is their attention to client confidentiality, they seem to be veryv careful when appointing staff, as mentioned above.

Re: John terry
I could not comment, as I have never visited; however previous favs being Oakwood and later the Dunkenhalgh were both favoured and seem to have gone out of fashion because of the loose lips of employees. I’m not saying Crow Wood is the current place for discrete meetings (I have no idea) but it is clearly the right sort of place and is known to the footballing community.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 5:25 pmI’ve no doubt of their professionalism towards this , but I have worked on site there a few times wandering around the grounds and you do see a lot of people come and go. Re: John terry
* sorry The Oaks not Oakwood
Re: John terry
Why would they have meetings like that in Burnley. It makes no sense. It doesn't make any difference if the staff are tight lipped if any Tom, Dick and Harry could see them when using the facilities there. For example, I've never been there but I've heard off probably 20 different people that Ian Holloway used to be a regular. Word spreads pretty quickly.

Re: John terry
Obviously John Terry wouldn’t be recognised in a hotel outside of Burnley.

Re: John terry
I'm sure it must be difficult for well known people to come and go unnoticed.
I can't see why any potential manager would be happy to attend an interview when they have to be ushered in and out under a blanket like a rapist going to court.

The Oaks and the Dunkenhalgh are way past their heyday.

I think you'll find that's Anass Zaroury disguised as John Terry in disguise.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 5:57 pmgettyimages-sb10064665aj-001-612x612.jpg

Re: John terry
As an aside Ben Foster, then Watford keeper used to do a vlog around "match days" and all that they involved. About 3? years ago he did one featuring their game at Burnley. The Watford team used the new hotel Wilfred's at Crow Wood and as part of his vlog he filmed himself inside saying that he'd now been two or three times and that although as PL footballers they stay all over the country in really top hotels, Wilfred's was right up there with his favourites and he really looked forward to coming there. He said staff were absolutely excellent and the food was amazing. (And no, I definitely thought it was completely genuine and not a paid for plug)

Re: John terry
The Burnley job would be a BRIDGE over troubled waters for Terry
