Nothing aimed at you to be fair pal.

Good natured rivalry is what it should always be.
I think that’s what it is and certainly what it should be.

Just a few years ago we had a thread on the board, probably before the league was extended, and I think it confirmed that East Lancs were the only club not represented on here.

The pro Lowerhouse got in for the Worsley Cup final win at Clitheroe two or three years back was as good as anything I've seen down the years. He was sensational that day, but that was just a one off booking.
Ruhan Pretorious. An incredible display of destructive batting. We had him at the end of last season once De Swardt had gone home and he was anonymous. It coincided with the poor run of form that took us from being top to mid table.

From 1978 to 1990 we had an outstanding pro for a lot of those years at Burnley, namely Mudassar Nazar. He was an innings builder rather than explosive but that Burnley team had a lot of amateur batsmen who could hit a bowling attack out of the game. He played in a good Burnley team and is probably as good a pro as I’ve seen at Burnley.

I'm a little shocked at this criticism for Ocky. He's a great pro, especially in a decent side.
He will get a score most weeks which allows the team to always give a good game.

I played against a lot of hard hitting Pro's but you always thought you had a chance of getting them out.
Innings builders like Peter Sleep were a nightmare to play against because they offered no chances.

He’s played 11 league games for us.. 4 Worsley Cup, so not really a one off, but it was his first game for us, granted.

My mate Neil Anderson always used to go on about Mudassar as the best pro he seen.

Trip used to rave about Collis King.

I don’t think I meant it as a criticism, just an observation of the two games this weekend. He’s won a hell of a lot of games for Burnley and they’ve done well during his stint as pro.

Totally agree with you on Sleep and going back to Mudassar, I was once talking to Jack Holdsworth who played for Church and he said he was the most difficult batsman he’d ever bowled against. He said you knew some days you weren’t going to get him out.

The explosive batsmen give you a chance but on their day they can murder you.

Neil will have played a lot of times for Burnley with Mud. He really was an outstanding pro and I put him up there as one of the best I’ve seen. Great bloke too and that’s important in a dressing room.

I once saw Collis King tear Burnley apart playing for Colne.

It was just the thread in general.

Most clubs looking for a sub pro will check if Ocky is available first.

Don't ever let him tell the story of him hitting Shane Warne for 6.
It will get repeated often throughout the night.

Aside from club pros, colne 3rd xl and lowerhouse 4th xl had two young sides on display today. Something like 15 players under 18 between them, some promising young players for the future if they keep developing.

It took Lowerhouse a few seasons to successfully replace Ocki but Salpietro is at the moment proving to be a big success. I think Ocki's record over the years is a testament to how good a league pro he is and a really nice guy as well.
With the revenue BCC can raise from football matters they could afford any pro they want but they have an excellent one in Erasmus.
Nice to see Tod progress . Hopefully The House can overcome Haslingdon and host a great final against Tod or Greenmount.

It was Warne’s first game for Accrington and his last game was also against Burnley. Duncan Spencer was his first and last Lancashire League victim although Duncan had hit a half century in the second game. His only other wicket against Burnley was Malcolm Heyworth.

Another one for Neil was the 1984 Worsley Cup final at Colne. He was going really well when he was caught by Gary Hunt. The catch was taken so far over the boundary that it was embarrassing but it was given out and Hunt never said a word.

Hadn’t seen Neil in ages but did before one of the home games close to the end of the season.
