Sacha is very good at saying a lot but actually saying very little.

Re: Next manager
Let's keep this in house......our next manager is Ruud Van Nistlesrooy.
Re: Next manager
Yes, a lot of his stories come in the form "something will happen" unless "it doesn't happen".
From what I understand, he says the he will come to Burnley unless United offer him assistant role.
Re: Next manager
Have you spotted him at Barnfields?Royboyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 3:32 pmLet's keep this in house......our next manager is Ruud Van Nistlesrooy.

Now gone odds on 4/5 with Sky Bet replacing Bellamy as the outright fav123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 2:28 pm2/1 before that news,
So many conflicting stories and we never know how far behind the curve articles are. Mirror saying RVN waiting for us to decide and has a database of players who will fit our budget
But then Romano saying RVN will decide next week.
I understand the thinking of going to United and if ten Haag has a collapse he could well see himself in caretaker charge but surely if they sack ten Haag they would also sack the staff he brought in to and start fresh
Re: Next manager
RVN back in to favourite sky 4/5 BV 4/6
Re: Next manager
Hope he wants to stay in management rather than go to be a staffer at Man U.

Does anyone else feel nervous at the prospect of RVN?
Re: Next manager
Yes, it's a risky appointment, He's not long in management and he apparently fell out with players and staff at PSV.

Yes.
But I was nervous when VK was appointed. And nervous when SD was sacked. And nervous when SD was appointed...

It’s the sort of character he is. Fallen out with a few throughout his career. We have no choice to allow the future to progress, just hope it progresses the right way and he manages to keep his toys in the cot. Don’t get me wrong, it’s exciting as well.

Not at all cos RVN is not coming to Turf Moor.
We are Burnley...a championship team, not a Global entity like Utd and RVN logically will jump at the opportunity to further his career at OT. RVN is a Utd legend and James Radcliffe is a huge fan of him so......it's back to Bellamy/Lampard and a ghost we don't know about yet.

Gazza was serious class and wouldn’t want him as manager. Waddle was serious class too. I am embracing it but I’m just not sure he’s the right sort of character. If we do get him, then I’ll be right behind him.Royboyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 4:04 pmCome on Pearcey.....we're talking serious class here.

I'd actually be more excited than I was when we appointed VK, at least RVN has won a couple of things !!

Re: Next manager
If, at 48, he wants to become a coach at formally brilliant but currently terrible football club as opposed to being a manager then it is for the best he doesn’t come - but I would be really shocked if that is the decision he has reached.

Re: Next manager
So you think he will choose to go and be a coach at Man United (not assistant) ahead of manager of Burnley? Surely not.
Re: Next manager
He had one season as a manager, fell out with everyone and quit. Maybe he wants to be just a coach?jedi_master wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 4:16 pmSo you think he will choose to go and be a coach at Man United (not assistant) ahead of manager of Burnley? Surely not.

Can they not choose a manager with a name that's easier to spell? Ruud van Nistelrooy could cause havoc on here.Royboyclaret wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 3:32 pmLet's keep this in house......our next manager is Ruud Van Nistlesrooy.

Re: Next manager
See some on here a bit nervous if its to be RVN .Every single manager named, without exception will generate fears from certain quarters, and we have had some horrors on this post since VK departed. I can't put my finger on it, but some names give me that WOW factor-this one does for me. In previous managers I got it with news of VK joining us, to a lesser extent Eddie Howe. In terms of players I got it when we signed players like Blake, Barton, Gray, Eagles,Chris Wood, Jack Cork. I am hoping if its RVN that he will generate the excitement for the playing staff, the crowd, and new players we are trying to attract .If we succeed in signing him the Board and AP deserve some praise

Re: Next manager
You just never know with managers and I get the inherent risk in RVN but something about it excites. Maybe I am being carried by Ruud the player with that, I can’t tell. I think it would excite the fanbase and get that ‘summer of 2022’ feeling back, which has definitely been eroded with what’s happened since promotion.
One way or another I just want a man in now. There is so much to sort out and I think it’s vital the appointment is done ASAP now that the players are back tomorrow.

Can’t imagine he’d be around for long to be honest but I’ve got to the point of not worrying about that.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 4:22 pmI'd be beyond buzzing with Ruud tbh. Absolutely loved him as a player as well.
Really feel he he’ll help push us to the next level in terms of attractiveness as a club for both players and future managers.
Kompany was a big name but in my opinion RVN is much bigger.

Let's hope Manure don't poach him to work with Ten Haag as reported in the press today
Re: Next manager
I doubt he would go from being a number 1 to a number 2 even if it is at Man United.

Re: Next manager
Wonder if Man Utd are looking to replace Steve McLaren, their coach. Whenever I see him during games he is just hidden behind his laptop, only talking if Tan Ven Hag asks him something-oh and the occasional high fives if Utd score, as if the goal was down to McLaren's coaching.
