Re: Euro 2024
He's offside as the ball comes in but not interfering
The ball then breaks to him so his original offside becomes relevant
But it only comes to him because Havertz fouls the attacker
If the goal is disallowed then it has to be a penalty
What a mess

Handball, it’s a natural position isn’t it?

Awful handball decision …. Everything that’s wrong with football
Re: Euro 2024
Incredible penalty. Arm in a perfect natural position and fired at him from a yard.

Re: Euro 2024
And I thought Oliver was having a decent game.
A ridiculous penalty decision. It was literally drilled at him from three yards away. Slow it right down and it looks contentious but in real time it never looks like a handball.

Does this studio ref ever disagree with a decision? She is super annoying.

Re: Euro 2024
Tyldesley totally wrong. If you revert to deliberate only players will make themselves as big as possible. They have to learn to keep them down and tucked in.

Re: Euro 2024
Tyldsley's called that right: If that is handball according to the letter of the law these days, then it needs re-writing.
It's completely against the spirit of the game.

Re: Euro 2024
Haven’t refs been told to adjudge any arm above the horizontal to be in an unnatural position?

Re: Euro 2024
Michael Oliver, for a long time, has been ******* awful.
Re: Euro 2024
Not Oliver at fault, he and Atwell have applied to letter of the law. It’s a crap law but can’t blame the ref for enforcing it.

Books someone for a 50/50 straight after.
Re: Euro 2024
Oliver gets worse the older he gets
Re: Euro 2024
And Oliver has just shown a Danish player a yellow card when two players jumped for the same ball and both bounced off each other.
English officials aren’t fit to be here. All appalling.

Re: Euro 2024
lads, that had nothing to do with Oliver, it's the stupid UEFA law where if the ball hits your hand you are screwed

Does anyone think we get that penalty decision? Only been given
Because it’s Germany at home.

Re: Euro 2024
Not sure what all the criticism is for. The English assistants dealt with a crazy 2 minutes correctly and efficiently. It was actually an example of very good officiating.

The way Oliver brandishes the cards he should have a comb over and a little black moustache.

Re: Euro 2024
Never a handball from that close in my opinion. You could argue it was and Oliver had it right but for me he's had an appalling game. Given several soft free kicks for Germany one of which nearly resulted in a goal.

Re: Euro 2024
Disgraceful all round. Common sense has been given a red card. There was no German attacker that would've been on the end of that. The ball barely brushed his finger tips. Germany gifted a goal. Denmark denied a legitimate goal in any other era other than this stinking modern era.
Re: Euro 2024
What a stupid rule the delayed offside rules are now
Add that to VAR and the game is being ruined

Kasper out!
Re: Euro 2024
Maybe we should apply VAR to the 1986 world Cup and replay England's semi final against Argentina.

Good finish. Game over.
Denmark have posed Germany problems with some pretty limited talent and might feel hard done by.

That’s the one, NYD 2005, called off after 17 minutes.distortiondave wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 9:33 pmUnless I'm mixing up my Leicester games then the game was called off at half time? I'm thinking of the new years day (or thereabouts) game, about 20 years ago.

Whether it's the rules themselves or the refereeing of them, I think we can all agree this is boll*cks. Absolutely ruined as a spectacle that Denmark had the better of.

Re: Euro 2024
Terrible decision by Schmeichel. On edge of box when through ball played, backs off and Musiala catches up with it about 5yds outside box. It was an easy clearance.
