Great manager.
At least if England win the tournament it proves you don't need a good manager to do it.

Even if we win this I'd still sack Southgate after this game, our best chance of winning this tournament is without him

All bets are off Toney is on. He’s looked better in 10mins than Kane has looked all the match.

Find it baffling how reluctant managers are these days to just play two up top. Kane and Watkins/Toney is an ideal partnership that will always cause problems.

With about 90 seconds remaining I went out to walk the dog because he was being a needy little bugger for his evening walk. Come back in and it’s still on the tele and the missus said we scored. She missed the second one though

Agree, 4 2 2 or a variation of it, can be more effective than all this tippy tappy fannying about at the back crap.

Need two up top to get the best out of Kane now or a number 10 like Musiala or Alvarez maybe even Foden if used as a 10.

Going forward I still believe we should go 5-3-2/3-5-2

Pickford

Walker Stones Guehi

Trent and Saka wing backs

Rice

Bellingham Foden

Watkins Kane

Makes it so much more difficult for the opposing defenders - 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 is great if you have two top class inside forwards/wide men that provide a goal threat and have pace, but if not it's just too easy for them.

Two up top and immediately they have to be accounted for, it also would be better for Kane to have a partner to stretch defence and have him playing his now favoured role dropping in the hole and linking midfield to attack.

The tried and trusted good ol' 7-2-1 formation. Nice.

Don't be silly.

It'll be same starters minus the injured Trippier, walking football again.

Why are we sitting back and trying to play posession football again. It's just asking for trouble. Attack is the best form of defence.

I'd have Mainoo or Wharton in ahead of Foden then for a bit more balance - that's definitely an option though.

See no reason why we can't properly go for it and play something like this.

-----------Pickford
Walker-Stones-Guehi-Saka
Palmer-Bellingham-Rice-Gordon
---------Kane-Watkins

Walker/Stones can step into midfield a bit and cover Bellingham's late runs forward. It's attacking sure, but we ain't going anywhere playing the current system.

I find that hard to believe.

It’s what they’ve done for years now.

And taking Kane (who was crap) and Bellingham off for Konsa and Gallagher suggests the opposite.
