Just seen the kit. Don’t like the purple, Villa in disguise, but the traditional feel is fine, as is the badge colour, and the sponsor-less option is superb and a kick in the balls to the gambling companies.

Won’t be buying a kids kit where the costs are higher than adults, not justifiable, but the sponsor free adult one is tempting.

Will the one without a sponsor still have Bristol Street Motors on the back?
The unsponsored shirt will still have Bristol street motors on the back.

Just seen the back of the shirt

How low are the names & numbers going to look with that sponsor being there?

According to the club shop, it will just overlap

If we sign a new goalkeeper called City you could have on the back of your shirt -

Bristol

But it’s still costing more, if I went to the club shop and bought an adult shirt or junior shirt, I would walk out £10 better off being the junior one
The point is that you need to take VAT off to know what the club is charging. They don't decide what does and doesn't incur VAT. They are charging more for the junior stuff. It just happens to be that because of VAT the consumer pays more for the adult one

So, the shirt without a sponsor will have a sponsor on? Is that right?

It's a watered down version of the last Championship shirt. A bit m'eh for me. I'm in the minority who liked last seasons home kit though so what do I know!

Still not paying that price, but I like the look of it more and more as time goes by.

I can see someone else has noticed its purple, I think its a bit poor their not even sticking to the correct colour now. Do they think they have the right to just change the club colours as well?

The club is becoming a bit of a millionaires play thing by the looks of it.

Really poor re branding exercise going on here.

Looks like dark purple and light purple pattern on the front. Dark purple on the back, what are you seeing ?

Nowhere near claret , have they forgot were called the “clarets”?

I’ll admit in the past I’ve bought a few pairs of shorts when reduced in the sales

They’re ok for slipping on around the room/pool whilst on holidays, but I wouldn’t buy socks and go FKW

Seems a little bit of an over reaction.

We’ve had lots of different shades of claret over the years - some darker, some lighter. One of the most popular kits of all time, the 91/93 Ribero kit, was a very dubious claret and sold in its thousands together with numerous replicas of it that have been produced since. The 99/00 Super League home shirt was also a very light claret.

Let’s see how the colour looks in real life before accusing the owners of wanting to scrap with tradition and don us in new colours.

“We are the b@£#&rds in purple and turquoise” Loses something in the chant so I guess we will continue to sing claret and blue even with the away strip. They can take away our dyes but they will never take our freedom. 😉

Will be interesting to see how many they sell after last years shockers as well.

It looks like the result of 4-5 clueless people round a table with no idea of the history of the club designing then. What a pity.

It really shouldn’t be hard to flick through a few pictures of old kits to get a feel for what’s come before, not asking too much surely. Designing in a vacuum rarely works.

Tony probably had a treasure trove of stuff amongst a fair few other people.

A quick wander round the clubs own trophy room might have helped also.

We are told we get custom kits, and so how hard would it be to get some input?

Although they may well restrict it to the FAB so maybe we are best as we are.

It blows my mind those prices.

I was in Spain last summer and bought the home and all way inter Miami shirts and shorts for my son and paid 30 quid. They are snide but you can’t tell the difference. He’s worn them every week for football practice and they are still In good nick. I’m going to buy him some more kits when I go to Spain this summer. Not paying those prices for a Burnley kit
Get on DHGate. £30 is still being ripped off when you get them for under £20 from China.

Really? It’s got a blue collar, blue sleeves and a claret body like 90% of our home shirts since we decided to copy Villa and have claret and blue.

Both of my daughters’ shirts arrived yesterday. It’s a nice shirt but definitely a ‘lighter’ claret than what we’ve been used to with the later Umbro kits.

Just seen the version without a sponsor

https://x.com/BurnleyOfficial/status/18 ... 1126849743

Just looks incomplete to me. Not that I will be buying any version though. Gives more options though so lets hope it is popular and promotes this to be a permanent option going forward for those that like to not have the sponsor on the shirt.

Won’t be buying a kids kit where the costs are higher than adults, not justifiable, but the sponsor free adult one is tempting.
I’d say Villa’s kits are far more claret than our new kit. That’s a horrific kit by the way and I’m not sure why this seasons was likened to it, looks nothing like it to me

Personally I like a deeper colour precisely because it distinguishes us a bit from West Ham & Villa.

Yeah, same here. No way I could buy a sponsorless one because they don’t look great to me - incomplete, like you say.

But equally doesn’t matter as I won’t be buying it because it’s quite boring-looking imo with or without the sponsor. I just don’t see the point buying a shirt that looks nearly exactly the same as all the others I have.

Both of my daughters’ shirts arrived yesterday. It’s a nice shirt but definitely a ‘lighter’ claret than what we’ve been used to with the later Umbro kits.
That looks darker to me?!

Maybe I need an eye test??

It’s also the nicest picture of it I’ve seen and might actually take back my comment about not buying it.

The children's shirt with that sponsor looks better than the adult shirt I think

Yes, amazing what a decent logo can do to a shirt.

Educated the expensive way, he knows his claret from his beaujolais.

Fixed it...

Really like that colour and the blue & white logo looks much smarter.

That pattern with the downward arrow is also really cool. They could do something smart with that like the old v kit.

I can live in hope.

Worst part of the shirt for me. Interesting that the junior shirt don’t have it on and they look so much better.
