So O'Hare is going to Sheffield instead of us, and Hladky has chosen to go to Jablonec instead of us.
Sounds like we are back in a Sean Dyche like transfer window.
Is o’hare actually that good? No prem clubs on for him and being offered massive wages by sheff united.
Don’t think he’s a position we need right now

Exactly this, he's done nothing since his injuries

Then there will be the ones that clubs will chase us for I suspect ie Berge, Brownhill, Trafford, Odobert, Amdouini (probably from Europe) and even Foster
If Brownhill and Berge go we will have just Cullen as an experienced CM

Messengo - never played a match for us
Ramsey - long term injury
JBG - not a CM

It'll be a shame if (when?) we loose Wilson and Sander, but it would partly because of ridiculous overspending last year.
It's unlikely you're going to pick up players like Odobert without a fair bit of speculative spending.

Then having signed Henderson last season, who went to Germany with England, Sam Johnston is likely to want to leave-he would be ideal for us

After the histrionics he showed in the game when O’Shea had to drag him off the floor it may be wise to give him a miss.

Jack Cork has been in talks about coming back to Burnley.
Obviously not done yet, so could be miles apart on contract.
He hasn't got anywhere else lined up.

Teams are missing a trick there. I'd be snapping him up if I was manager of Southampton or Ipswich.
I'm surprised Southampton haven't actually, was popular with them before, Russell Martin will be well aware of him and I wouldn't be surprised if Taylors mentioned him as well.

Feel that would be a good signing if he’s willing to come back on the right money, but hope it’s not a sign we expect to lose Berge.

Jack did coaching badges so would be an ideal player coach perhaps as a No 2 to Scott.

Not happening apparently. Muric fee £10m plus £5m in easy add ons and a large amount of initial fee paid up front. Newcastle still the most likely destination for Newcastle (which surprised me as they’ve already signed 2 keepers) fee will be over £20m.
Andreas Hountondji Happening, €4.5m.

With your news on assignon not happening, have you heard anything on Brunn Larsen? Also brownhill to Saudi?
Possible they loan Trafford out for a season after singing him, or they are worried about popes shoulder.

He's younger than Alexander was when we signed him I think and he's a far better player. No insult to Alexander, Cork just has quality so far above anything else in the division I think he could sit infront of the back 4 until he's 40 if he wanted to.

Yeah I didn’t expect it but that’s really disappointing because he’d absolutely tear the Championship apart. I’d have pushed the boat out for him.
Good news about Muric being £10m & the addons being easy.
Disappointed if we lose Trafford. Any news on #1 replacement?

Undoubtedly a far better player. Alexander was very limited but, having said that, he did a terrific job for us.

Not heard anything on JBL or Brownhill. Not to say there’s nothing happening I just don’t know about it. No info on a number 1 either. Václav Hladký Offered a deal and was happy to come as a number 2 last I heard but have seen a link today that he may be going elsewhere so not sure what the latest is there.
Despite some reports (Nixon) we were in strong for O’Hare but Sheffield are paying mega money for him (signing on fee and wages).
Couple of other likely exists with lots of suitors both in the prem and abroad are Berge and Odobert. But we are talking mega money. Would expect circa £50m for the pair.

Yep. Knew his limitations but was positionally brilliant and just kept the ball ticking over. Cork could do that role with his eyes closed.

50 mill isn't bad but it leaves us with a lack of quality and depth in central midfield. The replacement for Berge would be absolutely key for our promotion hopes. Get that wrong and we will struggle to get top 2

Interesting that we were in for O’Hare and that he’s chosen Sheffield. I would have thought if he fancied a shot at the premier league he’d have had a better chance here.
Re: Berge and Odobert, I really hope we don’t sell. It just feels like we’ve found a couple of premier league quality players and then sell them. They only signed last year & must’ve known this could happen. To me if we have any aspirations of “belonging” in the premier league we have to keep some of our premier league quality players else we have to find them again if promoted - and I’m not sure Parker will have Kompany’s pull to be honest.

Completely agree. I really hope Pace doesn’t think he can just swap players out and get promoted again.
I feel he’s dancing with death a bit here… and risking £200m premier league money!

Think Assignon blotted his copybook was it at Chelsea, shame as he would tear up that RHS
Not surprised with Trafford, think his head was turned when called up to the England squad

Of course we're going to have to sell Berge and Odobert, assuming the offers are there for them.
I'm surprised that was ever a question for some.

Think it was Spurs when Assignon behaved like a dickhead.
I'm not fussed for him coming back, but I wouldn't judge him on that, I think by that point anything resembling squad discipline had completely broken down.

Agreed. Also I hope they don't tey and Berge like for like. There's not many with that skill set and whilst I think he's a brilliant player I do sometimes wonder if he is a bit of a hindrance at times with his regular switching off and his lack of intensity at times.
We need an upgrade on Brownhill really, someone who can press but can also receive the ball off the centre halves and be trusted with it. That's if Massengo isn't good enough to do that.
There's a reason Brownhill has never nailed down his preferred centre mid role anywhere consistently. Nobody has shown real trust in him there from what I've seen.

Think Assignon blotted his copybook was it at Chelsea, shame as he would tear up that RHS
Not surprised with Trafford, think his head was turned when called up to the England squad
Wrongly sent off at Chelsea, it was at Spurs when his copybook was blotted.

That sending off at Chelsea was a disgrace . Do we expect Berge and Odobert will be sold?

Beyond a disgrace - as Dermot Gallagher said on Ref Watch: “I don’t know what Darren England thought he saw to think it was a penalty.”

As poor as we were last season , there were so many times when luck or poor judgement from the outside absolutely killed us.

That and the disallowed goal at Forest were the worst but it can’t disguise the fact that we were shocking.

I think the free kick before the Wolves goal at home was the worst.

I’ve been told Carl rushworth from Brighton is keeper we are interested in, was on loan at Swansea last season
