Re: BFC Players leaving on bad terms
I spent a very interesting evening with Clarke in a casino on Tottenham Court Road on Friday 19th of December 2014ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 5:51 pmThere were two sides to Clarke Carlisle. When he was fine, he was a decent bloke but when not he could be very distasteful. He threatened me one day because someone had crossed him on Facebook. He said I was to blame because I run the internet. He was so threatening, Steven Caldwell & Alex MacDonald had to intervene. The next time I saw Clarke he was fine.

Think that was around him threatening a disabled supporter at Blackpool.Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 12:32 pmI seem to remember an incident with Lafferty involving the old message board where he was going to seek out people who had criticised him, or something on those lines.

Reading this thread reminds me just how tinpot we were as a club even a couple decades a go. Who would’ve thought we would be one of the top 30 richest clubs in the world 15/20 years later.

…….and how much debt we had incurred just a couple of more years further down the line.

Re: BFC Players leaving on bad terms
Two separate incidents - the one when he wanted people's phone numbers was because Big Dave had given him 4 out of 10 on the message board and added "Goalscorer my arse". The incident at Blackpool was appalling from him but so was the abuse from the disabled woman. He should have risen above it and ignored her.Lowbankclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2024 12:29 amThink that was around him threatening a disabled supporter at Blackpool.

Didn't Ings turn up at his own tribunal and try to do Burnley out of a significant amount of cash on the transfer fee?

Never heard this one.THEWELLERNUT70 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2024 10:56 amDidn't Ings turn up at his own tribunal and try to do Burnley out of a significant amount of cash on the transfer fee?
There was obviously a coldness from Dyche towards him, he never talked about him the way he did about other ex players that had done well for us, which made me think some of the rumours that went around might have been correct.
Re: BFC Players leaving on bad terms
Having met Kyle quite a few times during his time at Burnley a lot of the abuse is unfair, really nice lad, obviously got a bit emotional and loved a beer. The incident at Blackpool was very much a case of don't give it, if you can't take it. The "disabled supporter" part is a red herring, and shouldn't be used as an excuse for their behaviour.
