Lankies harking on about the War of the Roses is on a par with Rovers fans reminding us about 1995. Embrace the present folks and be grateful that we have supplied England with another sublime batting talent in Harry Brook.

The only county that have to constantly remind themselves it's beautiful to get through the grim reality of life their..... if patting yourself on the back for mediocrity was an Olympic sport, Yorkshire would have produced a true world best.
As it is..... you'll have to wait for your Jimmy Anderson moment.

Yeah, in minority sports that most of the world donβt care about. If they focused on proper sports they might have a top flight football team, or a top flight cricket teamβ¦.. as it is, congratulations on the bmx biking for man childβs etcβ¦..

Yepβ¦.. itβs what you do for a good job. Lot of similarities between the Irish people And Lancashire peopleβ¦. Low ego, self deprecatingβ¦. Rather than full of self praise for average stuff.
For exampleβ¦. We laughed when Jimmy Anderson, the worldβs best, described his career as decentβ¦. Proper grounded. Meanwhile, Johnny Bairstows still throwing his toys out of the pram having been out of form for 2 yearsβ¦.. and we all think heβs a bit rubbish.

Correctβ¦. Virtually nobody will attend mountain biking, bmx, walking, rhythmic gymnastics etc etc when the Olympics is over. Yorkshire arenβt winning medals in the core sports are they? Just the fringe, minority stuff.

The wars of the roses had very little to do with Lancashire and Yorkshire - just two branches of the Plantagenets fighting it out. In the end there was a marriage and they all lived happily ever after.

Self praise is no recommendation is how we're brought up in Lancashire. It keeps us grounded.
