I think we should remember that adverts are there to make it all look dramatic to draw you into watching it and we should probably reserve judgement until we've seen the finished article..... however one telling thing is the lack of promotion from BFC about this. They couldnt wait to tell us all about it last season and to tell us how we must watch it, yet this time around so far, nothing. Suggests it isnt going to look good on anyone

I am really not looking forward to watching this - a strange feeling. Obviously I can't NOT watch it, but it's just pouring salt on wounds.

I think the lack of any promotion from the club is telling. They were beyond all over it a year ago but I suppose it’s what we’ve become used to now, they shout good news from the roof tops but say nothing at all when the news isn’t good.

Maybe I am naive but I would think the club has some control over the contents of the documentary and it won't be totally awful to view. The lessons of the Sunderland doc should be clear to anyone.

They had all the control last time so you’d expect it again. I suppose it will be whether they want to hang anyone out to dry.

No surprise, given it was they themselves that commissioned it

I still think about the barefaced nonsense rewriting of fact that was the contrived huddle scene about the transfer ban, they had known it was coming for weeks.

Lots of it was contrived and scripted. Interestingly, Pace said that he needed some persuasion to allow it.

Which could be true - the idea for it may well have come from one or more of the other partners and we know it is Pace who has the final say on virtually everything, so he would be the one who needed to be persuaded

hopefully it'll be on the on demand service too
If I remember correctly, (no guarantees), it was available on YouTube shortly after it was first aired.
Might be handy for those without a Sky box, book club sub or living overseas.

Well, IF indeed the club had any final say on what goes in and what stays out, there's going to be a lot more 'lively' stuff in this one than there would have been if VK was still our manager. The revenge of the spurned lover, perhaps?

To be fair, if nothing else, the first season did go some way to allaying many fears that the new owners were only interested in a quick buck and showed some good signs that the ownership group are looking out for the club too. Whether that is the reality or not, I don’t know but it was more promising that anything else we heard rumoured at the time. I’m looking forward to seeing how they were/are when everything isn’t so full of fluffy clouds, rainbows and unicorns as that’s when we will see something closer to the their true intentions.

My thoughts exactly, it won't be a hatchet job on VK, but it may be a little more revealing shall we say.

I’m guessing the one place this documentary will have interest is in the Munich dressing room. Many will have doubts already, and will be avidly watching this. I suspect there will be a lot of fallings out shown (I know the trailer is overly dramatic) and body language will be interesting.

It all came as a big disappointment given I was a staunch loyalist, but I’m convinced now our club is in a far better place because we have a better man manager.

Looks to be a fair bit of tension between the manager and players in that trailer.

I think that’s what the trailers are designed to do - show all the juicy bits that look like it’s kicking off all the time.

I’ll be surprised if it’s all like that, but we might see a more accurate reflection of how it really was now he’s gone.

Is there any club or a business/organization that would act any differently?

If there’s some dirty laundry that may be about to be aired I doubt Pace will be ploughing time/money to advertise that.

It's not all about dirty laundry - they don't even address supporter issues. For example, there was no explanation or apology for the ticket fiasco when the Luton tickets went on sale. Supporters who have contacted the club on this issue have been largely ignored.

The club employed the production company, it was never going to be controversial. They just sold it to sky. It's akin to a in-house promo

Yeah not even a trailer on any of the clubs social media channels, nothing from JJ Watt (who was been extremely quiet since the tournament in America)

I’m surprised the season has been commissioned, unless they think the downfall of Sunderland generated more eyes on them

It would have been commissioned before the start of the season when hopes and expectations were high. The lack of promotion from the club is very telling.

Sorry I should have said, actually gone ahead and released the season, there will be lots of times that camera crews follow clubs for a season and nothing ends up coming of the footage.

As much as a lot will be set up for cameras I think this one will be more interesting, the first season of mission to Burnley was just a glorified season review

None of this should be a surprise to anyone - it has all been out there in the public domain - just look at the Admission Statement on Asset Match, it is very explicit about wanting to develop into a fully fledged content production business.

A side note on the Asset Match thing - the second sale completed at the end of July - no shares traded once again. By contrast, the most recent sale period closed for Everton on August 1st - 101 shares were traded at £3500 each and this is a club that is in all probability technically holding negative equity given its debt obligations (and that includes the new stadium)

The director was pretty clear that they had full editorial control and that they’d walked away from previous projects when it was suggested that they might not.

I guess it’s a fine line between doing what they hell you like and maintaining a relationship with a club that you might want to film with again.

Sounds like the doc will cover VK’s departure and Parker’s appointment too.

I mean it’s hardly a shock that the dressing room was volatile last season is it. When you’re getting absolutely mullered week-in week-out you’d expect it.
