Re: Legend in Stevenage
He does look remarkably fit. I'm always a little surprised at how fit some of these retired pro's are when you see them still involved with the game even at lower levels,Bin Ont Turf wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 9:58 pmLooking fitter than when he played for us![]()

Re: Legend in Stevenage
He was better for us in the Premier league than Trafford . Don't know why, but I'll always have a soft spot for him.
Re: Legend in Stevenage
He was the best of a very bad munch. We struggled with a decent keeper after Crichton left. Then we got Heaton and Pope. Two of the best keepers to ever play for the club.

Re: Legend in Stevenage
Trafford was/is certainly a lot better taking crosses.
Beast must have dropped half the crosses he went for.
However, don't want to disparage him per se, a good servant to the club, good shot stopper and crowd favourite.
Good luck to him.

Re: Legend in Stevenage
Yep, Heaton, Pope - plus Hart and Lindegaard - all 4 international keepers at the same time.
Re: Legend in Stevenage
I think he dominated the box better and his experience of playing with the team for a few years showed as he could organise the defence. Not saying he was in the same league as Pope etc and he peaked with us ( not a high peak granted) whereas Trafford can only get better and if Trafford plays this season with us and we go up his next season in the Prem will be far better and would surpass anything Jensen did.

Re: Legend in Stevenage
Jensen was pretty shocking in that season in the premier league
Anyone who seriously thinks he dominated the box that season has a very different recollection than me.
Tbf was brilliant the season before when we went up.

Re: Legend in Stevenage
I would say him and Trafford were both as worrying in equal measure.
Re: Legend in Stevenage
At least Trafford didn't pretend to be injured if he let a goal in

Re: Legend in Stevenage
Didn’t he feign injury after letting that goal in against Luton?

Let’s not fill this thread with more tedious Trafford stuff.

Re: Legend in Stevenage
Messageboard would have reached new levels of toxicity if Trafford had pulled a stunt like Jensen's fake injury.

His penalty save against United was superb, what a night that was.

He was almost too embarrassed to acknowledge the travelling support at the end of the game. What a way to go out.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 1:41 pmI remember the last one he let in at Barnsley in the FA Cup. Don't know why really but it still haunts me.

I agree with what you say.

You can use stats anyway you want, however even allowing for his less games the stats show Jensen dominated the goal mouth better.
Re: Legend in Stevenage
Is that Brian Jensen? So who was the legend then?
Re: Legend in Stevenage
Glad to see he’s recovered from the injury he got at home against Wigan
Legend my arse.

What a night indeed.
I mentioned that penalty save to my West Ham supporting mate yesterday when I identified Beast to him!

Re: Legend in Stevenage
271 appearances under different managers, dropped more than once and fought for the place back and won. Not the best goalkeeper we've ever had but where the club was at during his time he served us pretty well I reckon.
