What will be our final league position and score v Luton ?

I should be confident but I am not. We just don’t seem fully prepared. It’s a long season but as we found last year a bad start is hard to recover from

Got this wrong the last time we were relegated and usually out with these kind of predictions.
I’d like to see Parker staying in post all season and I’ll go for sneaking into the play - offs.
Anything better would be a pleasant surprise.

0-2 (but this is probably our toughest game of the season)
Just not seeing where our goals are coming from at present
Final position depends entirely on outgoings and incomings before the end of transfer window.
Based on current squad, and if we get key players back from injuries, we should be good for the top 4 and maybe better.

Difficult to assess the final position without knowing what the squad will look like. With Berge, O'Shea & Odobert top 2. Without those 3 top 6.

I have no idea about either but look forward to a season without VAR during which I can enjoy watching football again knowing that if a referee makes a mistake, it will at least 'probably' be a genuine mistake.
A season during which the Match Official will not be INSTRUCTED by a biased VAR Official to change his initial correct decision e.g. Nottingham Forest away.

From what I read, Luton have quite a few injuries and a make shift back 4. Plus the loss of Barkley and Lokonga.

We shouldn’t lose tonight (history suggests it) but given they are a relegated side and it’s away I’d be happy with a draw. Given our squad (and how much we keep of it) we should have no trouble finishing top and I think anything other than auto promotion would be a disappointment. People suggesting as low as ninth I put down as the usual moaners. Nothing in our recent history or (mostly) the history of relegated clubs in general suggests a mid table or so finish.

Maatsen and Tella are the obvious big misses from 2 seasons back.
Will Foster, Koleo and Odob counterbalance their loss...I think they will over the season.

But not tonight. 2-0 Luton.

Interesting to see what kind of a tune Parker gets out of Kompany's players tonight...potentially it could tell us as much about VK as it does about Parker.

I would take 0-0 right now. I think we may have a stop start season until the end of September.

Parker will take time to work out his best starting 11 with more uncertainty likely until the end of the window.

But confident that we will finish in the top 2. We’ve more than enough for this league, even allowing for a few to leave.

Anything could happen Parker has obv taken the job that’s been offered to him but he has adopted all kinds of issues we won’t know half of

players who thought they didn’t want to be but now do due to kompany

I think everyone was happy to give vk a free season to experiment and he even said wouldn’t get promoted in the first year while Parker has said that’s the aim I think we have to be patient but we have one of the most expensive sides in the league and may not pay to be patient

So let’s go 5-5 tonight

I think expectations are too high and anticipate a few 'Parker Out' threads during the season.
We left the PL in a mess and there are no signs we are anywhere near escaping it.
I'm happy waiting until the second half of the season but many won't. It's going to be messy up to then I forecast

Reading between the lines regarding the reports of unrest behind the scenes, I'd say its more likely that the vast majority of the players will be glad to see the back of VK, rather than mourning his departure.

Slightly nervous about Sheff U. Brought some quality in there. Leeds, well, they will just be Leeds, annoying and certainly loitering around the top 2 all season.

Maybe in the next 46 games but not last night. Should have been 7-2 at least
