Delighted with that, puts some nerves to bed, but the fat lady isn't singing yet.

Positives, 2 well taken goals, 2 brilliant passes to set them up.
Negatives, too much overplaying at the back, until we lose the ball under unnecessary pressure. Too many cheap free kicks against a Luton side. Too many lost opportunities in their box, 1 good touch were in, but we mess them up.

Very early days so I'm sure we still have lots to work on, but a fair start.

Excellent stuff. The play your way out no matter what attitude has gone. Should see less hairbrain moments. Then there is the willingness to play a long ball into space if needed. They were clearly not allowed under Kompany.
As someone has aleady said...no more idealogical one way of playing.
We still overplay a little in the final third. A couple of situations we should have made better of late in the half and just one too many passes going on.
A great start.

Wonderful to see us mixing it and going direct at times.

Something to remember though, there will be very few games like this one today. The vast majority of teams will be sitting back and we will have to be clever enough to break them down.

Trafford kicking much the same!
Nothing like the same. He is releasing the ball quickly, and the players are constantly cycling the ball back to him. He looks much more comfortable in this system.

Looking really good so far and tactics have been spot on.

Hope it's not our fans booing trafford. Id like to think we aren't that retarded but I can't honestly think why Luton fans would be booing him 2 minutes into the game on his very first touch.

Seen a lot of weapons on Facebook whining about trafford in some of the dumbest of ways so it would surprise me but not shock me if so

We can get another goal here. Allow teams like Leeds to push forward and be far too quick on the counter.

At least when we get to the edge of their area we don’t finish up passing back to our keeper like last season.

The only thing I can relate to the Trafford boo'ing, is the way in which he was fouled in the Prem game last season. Maybe he said something after the game?

I cant really remember but I know it upset a lot of us at the time and maybe he's said something to upset the Luton faithful

Word for Dara and Esteve - absolutely strolling against the most physically demanding front pairing they will face in this division.

That half was a bit of a master class in tactics from
Parker. No fannying around at the back and for a change utilising our strengths fully. Brilliant to see. Defence absolutely solid. Big 45 coming up. Stop the early goal and try and get a 3rd and put arguably one of the toughest away fixtures to bed.

Early days obviously but they can only improve with more game time as they gel and become a more cohesive unit.

Esteve and O'Shea class at the back
Pires and Roberts great through balls and 2 composed finishes
Koleosho and Ododert have too much pace and quality for this division
Cullen and Brownhill have been excellent

Be interesting to see his subs, there must be a bit of shuffling the team before he gauges his best eleven.

Why? He's got Koleosho working his nads off infront of him, Brownhill shifting across to cover and Esteve next to him. They aren't having much joy against that so far unsurprisingly.

I honestly think our second 11 at the minute is capable of winning this league. That's how insanely strong our squad is.

Great that we've scored but it looks quite familiar overall to me. Perhaps not surprising given how little SP has been able to change things and how little time he's had.

It's not another Huddersfield. Not yet anyway.
If you are expecting that kind of performance think you might be in for a disappointing season. We’ve done well and two great assists.

Also at least when we're on the edge of our own area we're not doing 10 pointless passes between keeper and centre backs and then putting ourselves under pressure.
