Brownhill’s hit the nail on the head “Different tactics for different games” VK had only one tactic.

So happy. Sticking my neck out a bit but we are going to be an unstoppable professional machine.

Outstanding. I absolutely loved that performance.

More a single pattern with the odd variation but mostly not. Wouldn't go as far as tactics.Stonehouse wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 10:02 pmBrownhill’s hit the nail on the head “Different tactics for different games” VK had only one tactic.

I agree
That’s as complete as a performance as you’re gonna see at this level.
To do that first game is unbelievable

Where was all the passing across the pitch and slow build ups? Really missed that!
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Honestly, I'd love Weghorst to stay just for the bants and to have a massive ****-house on the books. We've needed one since Barnes left

Slagged him off a lot last season but he was superb tonight. Bundles of energy, quick feet and loads of passion.

Thought Foster worked his backside off keeping 2 of their centres busy & making space for runners.

I liked the way we stopped Doughty. He kept swapping sides in the first half and still struggled.

Vitinho tortured Doughty second half down our right, almost started to feel sorry for him.

He was terrific - a real selfless performance. He will get his goals soon, probably against Cardiff where you’d expect a totally different type of match.Stockbrokerbelt wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 10:07 pmThought Foster worked his backside off keeping 2 of their centres busy & making space for runners.

That was bloody lovely. Blown away - what a statement.
Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
We will have the same problem as last time with teams sitting back, everyone behind the ball. The good thing is that we have pace at the back to stop the breakaways.

VINCENT who ?? I said earlier today that one thing was guaranteed as we entered our first game-a happier dressing room, and how it showed throughout the team. Well done Scott, great game plan

Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
So many positives, but I'll say my favourite was the fact that when we gave away the sloppy goal, and looked like getting swamped, we dug in and took control of the game back. Even before the 3rd.
Delighted Traff started, he needs backing now, and glad Wout is still here. He didn't look ****** off about it, and he could do so much for us this season.
Happy days are here again

Club captain, in the last year of his contract - would have probably left if the club hadn't exercised the additional year option
And never stopped running tonight

Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
To win here, you’ve got to do everything.
You’ve got to be strong at the back, defend set plays, and take your chances when you get them.
And that’s what we’ve done.
Glen Little. Legend.

There's something likeable about parker. I feel like we've found a man in-between Dyche and Kompany. I'm excited.

As near as perfect as you're going to get was that,
Had elements of Coyle, Dyche and Kompany in it. Flash cockney Parker!

Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
The depth of quality we have on the bench is just levels above anything in this league.
We have players on the bench that get into every single team in this leagues starting eleven.
This style Parker has got us playing with our depth in quality, I think we are on for a special season

The list of quality players we have is ridiculous
O shea, Esteve, Roberts, Pires, Cullen, berge, Brownhill, koleosho, odobert, Foster, amdouni, weghorst, Benson, redmond and loads I've missed off

Hearing a manager talk about having a gameplan for certain teams is so refreshing, onwards and upwards
Also the new 3rd kit does look a hell of a lot better when you score 4 goals in it

Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
It feels good to win, it’s great to have an adaptive manager who’s willing to make changes that are informed by what he sees in front of him on the pitch.
But, most pleasing for me was the reaction to the goals. Players running to each other, being happy. It seems Parker has the squad back together.
O’Shea doesn’t look like a player about to move, he looks very well loved. Trafford (who I love) running the length of the pitch to celebrate with the team.
We have our club back, and better we got paid to get it back form that plank of an ego Kompany by Munich.
Still think Roberts is a muppet and he didn’t track his runner for their goal. But, I’ll have a night off banging that drum.

Well I hope that shuts a few of the naysayers up ... Fantastic work tonight ... 4 great goals scored ... Foster worked hard and got his assist for that great run, winning and picking the ball up in our own half and a great through ball for Vits
.
Also a shout out for Trafford in goal ... The Luton boos must have boosted him a bit too.

This league is going to do a lot for all these young players in terms of confidence- Luton away will probably be one of the hardest games on paper and they handled it superbly.

Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
Tonight we looked really good against a team that will finish top 6. We moved the ball with much more conviction than under VK and we played to our strengths.
Having a happy Weghorst will also make a massive difference.

Re: Luton v Burnley Match Thread
I am responding to the word tactics and Mr Kompany.
He was more "We play this way" not tactics.
Thats just a view. Nothing to do with tonight. .
