Seems to be a left back.

If nothing else comes of it, maybe at least we’ll get Ronaldinho coming over to Turf Moor for a game.

Right winger with 4 goals in 9 apps for Barcelona under 19s

Three Brazilians now. Wiki says he is either a left back or winger.

Are we assuming he’s linking up with the first team?
Seems strange if he is leaving Barcas academy to come to ours - unless he’s been released cos he’s no Ronaldinho

This is true, but if you want a player to change a game I do t think they come much better than Benson.

Sometimes in a game you need that option on the bench that will change the dynamic.

If you said to me we were 1-0 down, 20-30 minutes to go, we had Koleosho, Odobert, Amdouni, Weghorst, Benson on the bench and one sub left, I’d be bringing Benson on.
True but I imagine it's him pushing for a move because he wants starts

Let’s hope he is being signed because they see potential in him and not just because he’s Ronaldinhos son

Contract ended at Barca we’ve got him on a free. Worth a pint if anything else and is a savvy marketing ploy. Ronaldinho on the back of a Burnley shirt (I know he’s Mendes really)

Not many decent youngsters are released these days given the financial fair play rules.

I hope I’m wrong, but I’ll wager he barely plays for us.

You'd hope so. There's a whole host of absolute bums like Weghorst and Tresor that people seem really bizarrely to want to extend an olive branch to, then a load of players that have never done it and are never going to get to the level we need such as Twine.

Yet we're talking about the likes of Benson being the ones that should be shuffled on. Players that have produced the goods and have shown their quality repeatedly.

Transfer thread logic.

It's a fair point in general and you are probably still right regardless but Barcelona are probably one of a few that are an exception.

They've been horrifically mismanaged and but for signing away chunks of their image, merchandising and TV deal monies for a number of years they'd have done a Rangers.

Properly ******, they are not insulated from any kind of financial shock at all now so no surprise to see them trying to swab the decks a bit.

"Absolute bums*.
One featured Monday and was praised by the manager for his professionalism since returning to the fold and the other could potentially have mental health issues and we may not have seen him fully fit.

Should the second one turn out to be true I certainly wouldn't like to have labelled him an absolute bum. Quite distasteful really.

But I agree Benson shouldn't be moved on and I agree we do have a group of players that require moving on before him.

Excellent, get him gone. It might be that some folk will drop their knickers cause the new manager has said he's been professional in the short time he's known him, whatever the **** that means - I presume 'turned up for training and listened to instructions - maybe even brought a cone or two in' in exchange for a 50k a week salary but the rest of us won't forget his disposition when the going was tough and how he was too good to play at this level previously.

What’s clear is that we can’t keep hold of both Amdouni and Weghorst, so which would you rather keep?

Amdouni is a difficult one for me , I see his talent but there was a lack of drive and work rate which is required to become a top player. To add to that his confidence looked absolutely shot the second half of the season. With the right coaching I do think he’d become very good. This is why I don’t want to see him leave , a championship season getting acclimatised to the physical side of it and scoring a glut of goals could be the making of him. On the other hand loan him out and keep Weghorst who would undoubtedly score in this division and link the play up well, then next season being him back and reevaluate ? It’s difficult

he's good and Brighton don't often get too many wrong nowadays. They'll sell him to Chelsea for 120 next summer. It would be another huge loss for Leeds.

The £40 million gained could build them a very strong championship squad if spent wisely

From what I remember there was never a time I questioned his work rate. People go on about bedding in, getting a full pre season, etc etc. He was signed in the January, to replace the already departed Chris Wood, and if reports are to be believed, Dyche didn’t want/choose him anyway. He was thrown straight in and we were right up against it that year.

Summer then comes and he’s given the news that if he isn’t playing at the top level, he won’t be in the reckoning for a spot in the Euro/WC squad, whatever it was that year. His wording of his decision to want to leave may have ruffled a few feathers, but if we’re being honest. If you believed you had a chance to represent your country at the highest level, and the only thing stopping you was the league you’re playing in, I’d probably push for a loan move away too.

It appears he has the backing of the manager atm, and that’s fine by me. We don’t see what goes on every day at the training ground. Did I like the way he left back then? Not really. But I understood it. If SP feels he is an asset this season then get behind him, as long as his work rate stays high, the goals/assists and confidence will come in time.

Problem is they’ve got 2 weeks left and that’s their 3 best players gone. Rutter 7 goals 15 assists, Summerville 20 goals 6 assists. Their fans are having a right meltdown on X. I’m a bit surprised Brighton are paying 40m though, they aren’t known for overpaying, which I think this is.

Again it’s another deal which adds a nice little benchmark for what our club should be looking at for some of our talent. And also shows the type of fees you can still get after a good season at this level. That’s >£100m banked for Leeds now if this deal goes through.

The Rutter fee shows it's worth keeping hold of players like Koleosho, Odobert, Amdouni if we can afford to. They won't lose value after a good season in the Championship. Rutter was poor for Leeds as they were relegated but a very good season in the Championship, no promotion, and he's going for £40m.

The £40 million gained could build them a very strong championship squad if spent wisely
They paid 35 for him though didn’t they? It’s only a 5m
profit I’d be suprised if they don’t still have quite bit of that initial fee to pay back. They still have Augustin to pay for as well, the one who turned out to be awful and they were refusing to pay for, but now have to.

Sold Summerville for £25M, yet could only offer £7M for Rowe who now looks to be off to Marseille.

And a quick Google search suggests Leeds have £190M left to pay on instalments.

Not sure on the financial powers of their owners but that sounds like it’s approaching **** or bust territory this season.

We need to keep Dara if our aim is promotion and not simply drift in the Championship

Not many decent youngsters are released these days given the financial fair play rules.

I hope I’m wrong, but I’ll wager he barely plays for us.
Feel exactly the same. Apart from his heritage there is nothing remarkable about him or his stats. That said he's a free, and won't be on a lot of money, so it isn't going to backfire on us at all. AND just maybe we're wrong and he turns out to be good. We can't lose really.
