Some of our squad see Odobert, Berge and others leaving and just maybe it spooks them into asking their agents to get them a new gig elsewhere.

The last thing any of them want is to be stranded in the Championship, that is the impression that our better players leaving could have on them.

It's been a strange evening, ideally I don't want this to become the norm between now and the 30th.

The only good news about Berge leaving would be Massengo playing more (have been impressed by his cameo’s).

There has been an offer for Massengo for £2m but we want(ed) £5m to sell him. This offer has been on the table for a few months now I believe.

Could be that they have asked for a loan. Massengo wants to play regularly so I think he is keen to go if he isn't getting playing time. Not sure if the odd 5-10 mins will have helped here but it also depends on what Berge going means too I guess.

Parker spoke to him and told him that he has the same opportunity as everyone else and from what I understand didn't leave him with confidence that he was going to be any higher up the pecking order.

Also as a mate of mine suggested to me, it could also dissuade incomings who were thinking of joining one of the favourites to get back to the Premier League but who are now looking less likely of that as the best players leave

BBC gossip reporting Botafogo agreed terms with Vitinho on a loan with purchase option, no agreement yet with Burnley. Cannot see it personally but did view Saturday’s clapping as a “goodbye clap”.

Generally pleasing. Vitinho aside all departures so far or deemed imminent haven't started a game, and the former we probably wanted upgrading at right wing. Also, vitally, all appear to be a profit (unsure about Twine) - Berge, Kompany, Muric, Odobert. By my reckoning we could be about £40m up on just these guys, less fees, sell ons etc. We know ALK like to gamble so this appears likely to see some big incomings that makes us even stronger than in 22/23 and vitally without losing loans at the end. Money talks and this model allows us to blow the likes of Leeds out of the water.

Berge is 26 and has only 2 seasons in the PL so understandable he feels he has to go, I never thought we had a chance though he is our best player. Odobert we will see but it was good money.

A new head coach would always want to influence some incomings so I view it as a positive. I forget how many good players we have to slot back in even if all the rumoured leave (Redmond, Ramsey, Ekdal, Tresor (if we can get him sorted out) etc). It’ll be fine.

I repeat from earlier - the players it is vital we keep are Amdouni, Esteve, Cullen, Brownhill, Foster and Koleosho.

Yes, I agree he's not worth anything like £20 million and pretty sure we'd be nowhere near him at that price.

I've always described him as a walking yellow card, he's talented and a decent technical player but I don't see him as being a direct replacement for Berge, he's a different type of player.

I said weeks ago that my biggest worry this season was our ability to control the centre of the park, take charge in there and you can play the game to your tune.

Saturday showed a weakness, exacerbated by playing central midfield two, no matter how talented Hannibal is, I don't see him as the answer on his own. Sell Berge, bring in Hannibal and a more orthodox central midfielder and I'll be fairly content.

It's a big ten days and after the lull it appears we are venturing back into silly season, in regards to transfer activity.

If Hannibal is so talented surprising that he only managed to make 1 start at Sevilla. Also read that the player would much rather play in France or Spain. Hardly sounds that encouraging to be honest.

It would be poor negotiation on our part if he does. He'd barely had a kick for Espanyol before we picked him up and took him to the Premier League.

For me Saturdays game showed me how much koleosho would benefit from a season in the championship, he’s not like Odobert who had a full season and had also been playing senior football previous. Koleosho had what 3 games for Espanyol before coming to us then had 7 months injured. He’s still such a raw talent, full season in the champ would be so much better for his development

It sounds like we might be in for a fun week. I think we all knew that a significant number of outgoings were on the cards. In the perfect world we would be looking to shift Egan Riley, McNally, Delcroix, Obefemi etc, but that only happens if there's genuine interest in any of them. If there's no bites we'll need to look at a few more of the first teamers. We can't carry the squad in it's current size, it's not feasible. Trafford and Berge going would be a positive from a financial sense, but there's more work to do in order to repair the damage done in the catastrophic transfer window last summer!

That was never realistic. We spent 100m last summer and we can't make it even by selling five fringe players.

Not gonna lie. Vitinho and JBG possibly both going has properly thrown me. Our two most versatile members of the squad, who are both popular, have experience and can play in multiple positions.

From what I can see, 18 players have left Sheff U this window.
5 of them for fees, then players like Foderingham and McBurnie who've gone for free, then players like Egan and Norwood who have simply been released, and finally players like Souttar whose loan has ended.

They’ve basically sold 3 players for around 15m, 4 if you include Archer’s weird deal, and spent around 10 of that. Souttar just signed for them. We are going to almost be at 100m in sales with a 5m spend by the weekend.
