I wasn't really talking about his ability (or not), more his desire to be here*. We've not seen anything from him at all that shows an ounce of enthusiasm, so for Parker to turn that around would be pretty special imho.

O'Shea is a very good player - it would be great if he stays but that seems unlikely as there is more than one PL club supposedly interested in him

However, some of the comments about Joe Worrall as a potential replacement are alarmist to say the least

For all O'Shea's of commendable attributes - pace, organisation ability to chip in with a few goals - our PL relegation was the second on his CV. He improved as last season went on notably after the arrival of Esteve - he's 25 - only two years younger than Worrall and at 6.1 three inches shorter

Worrall has captained a team to promotion form this division and been part of a PL defence that survived their first season. He'll add much needed experience, leadership and an ability to get out of this division he shares with a core group of players in the squad and the manager

Surely the lesson to be learned from last summer's window is to focus on the primary objective - last year it should have been staying up this season it is going up - it's not like the club has abandoned the model but instead supplementing a pool of exciting young talent with the 'men' Dave Checketts identified as required to get the job done

Yes it was clearly lacking in leadership qualities.

How can anyone watch us last season and think otherwise. Especially after watching the documentary. I think there were only two players that showed any kind of leadership and that was foster and Cullen

This should be a basic more people realise. Each transfer is formed of a number of variables unique to that situation. Comparing transfers means very little and ignores all the nuances.

VERY highly thought of up there, but never quite made the breakthrough. Rogers said he was the most talented player he's ever seen come through their academy. Quite promising signs.
