Congratulations Will Hugill

Post by burnleytom » Wed Aug 28, 2024 9:31 pm

I know we all like seeing ‘one of our own’ come through the youth team and play in the first team, but how often is it that an actual Claret does it?

Congratulations Will. Surely a life goal ticked off.

Brilliant to see him come on. He’s a Claret and a season ticket holder as are his parents.

Young lads can hold their heads up high. McDermott looks a real gem. Would like to see more of hughill too.

Two silver linings on an otherwise poor night.

Hope the lads keep.progressong and especially nice to have "one of our own" on the pitch.

Puts some to shame. The lad and his family will be made up.

A rare positive in a dark landscape but a reminder of what we are and who we are.

Fair play to him , a dream that I’m sure most of us all had once upon a time .

Likewise to McDermott who showed some good touches and looked to have something .

Well done lads

There’s always something special about a young player representing the club they’ve always supported.

Well done Will you’ve achieved a dream that makes most people envious.

This is one of the positives that can arise out of the, 'transfer out' chaos.

These lads might not have been given their chance without the sudden drop in player numbers.
Time for the doommongers to think more positively. They've registered their contempt for how things have gone since the Cardiff game and now it's time to focus on the healthier state of our club, even if they do think it considerably weakens our promotion chances. I have known predicted outcomes to be wrong previously as well. Let's see where we are at 11pm tomorrow. Let's see how we are at 2-30pm on Saturday and let's see how we are at the end of the season. Let's try and get all this 'hate' under control.

Let's get back to supporting our Burnley players (all of them) and the Burnley team.

His maternal grandfather was one of the most ardent fans I’ve ever met, he would have been incredibly proud last night had he been here to see it.

He looks like a first team player who won't get knocked off the ball easily. They usually look a bit scrawny when they come in from the U21s.

Like everyone, I think its brilliant to see a young person from the academy make their debut and being a claret is an added bonus. In addition, I don’t know the young man, two friends of mine were his PE teachers in Harrogate and they couldn’t speak highly enough of him, his attitude and character. Fingers crossed he gets more opportunities and kicks on (the same goes for our other talents in the academy).

It's happened before with Richard Chaplow with his mum & dad. His mum & dad are still season ticket holders.

Just imagine if he gets on and bags against that lot. There isn't a Burnley fan since 1882 who hasn't dreamt about that.
