Thank goodness. Over for another few months.

I've been very despondent at times in recent weeks with seemingly all of our players strongly linked with moves away, but on the plus side it seems to me that Scott Parker has been allowed to select the replacements and we've got some great characters and leaders who know English football. That should help the dressing room no end.

Are the rumours true that you and Matt Williams are joining each other on a 10 day Mediterranean cruise, during the International break, to recover from the last 21 days or so ?

Meanwhile, it appears that the one big loser, is Vincent Kompany's letting agent agent for his properties in Manchester, who suddenly has a large number of vacancies to fill ...

As a new poster who has followed this message board for some time, I would like to say a huge thank you to CT, not just for all the articles of the last few days but for all the other work you and the mods put in in running everything. To people like myself who are Burnley exiles, even though I only live in Preston, it really is invaluable and very much appreciated.

Not at all, it was good to see someone with some enthusiasm during that game. If he's enjoying himself then that's brilliant.

Boy did we need this transfer window to transform our squad. So many contentious players no longer with us and a new broom to sweep clean.
Yes , there are still one or two question marks however with the new manager able to take full control any dissenters are finally marginalised

Hopefully the feeling of detachment that has been mentioned by so many will become less now as the scene has been set to see a more settled and focused playing squad that fans can finally identify with

Not included by the EFL, same as Vertu because of being u21 players. The one yesterday was included.

From what I've seen Humphreys and Anthony are options to buy although I read that the Anthony one only comes in should we win promotion. Flemming is an obligation to buy, confirmed by Millwall, and I think Sarmiento is just a loan.

Excellent summary here. Haven't been able to keep up. As I said elsewhere, rather different to the early 1970s when we would inevitably sell our best player and possibly sign a replacement (or more likely promote a couple of players from the youth system / Central League team), but otherwise start the new season with virtually the identical XI that finished the last.

I hesitate to raise it, but ClaretTony typically keeps us informed of our former players successes or otherwise. That on its own is a full time job given this diaspora of 20 players to all corners of the globe.

Oh, and one more thing, little Burnley selling players to Ajax, Benfica, VfB Stuttgart, Tottenham Hotspur.

Incredible times.

UTC!
