Gave up after five minutes but couldn’t disagree with any of it.
They played well and then did well when down to 10 men and could have won it twice.
He didn’t moan that much about the sending off, unlike one of two higher profile managers I can think of.
I still think that is the best they will be while we can get a lot better.

They played well? I thought they were bang average...We dominated most of the match .They didn't offer too much going forward and the stop start dirty tactics slowed the game down which is what they wanted,especially after the sending off...

I don’t think they even reached bang average really. All they did was constantly break up the game.

The ref completely let them take the pi-ss second half, falling for their time wasting/ rolling around routines.

But according to them on social media the ref was like a 12th man for us.

Not as I take much notice of the utter drivel their entitled fanbase pap on about.

They did a number on us and got the best result they could hope for. Well set up tactically for the opponent in front of them. They’ll play like that most matches and get results. No relegation battle this year. Sadly they have a good championship manager in Eustace.
Just outside the top 6 for me.

One thing that Eustace has done since arriving is to organise us properly. Our defending still isn't the finished article, especially given your goal, but we limited your attacks quite well thereafter. I don't recall you having any clear cut chances for all your possession. In fact, I'd argue that we had the better of the chances. We have had lots of phases under Tomasson and Mowbray where we would dominate possession but struggle to break teams down and come away with disappointing results against so-called weaker opposition. That's not a fault of the opponent, or something to arrogantly besmirch them for. It's a fault on us, and an indicator that dominating possession if you're not going to do much with it isn't going to always work, as we've found out on too many occasions. Granted, you've probably got the players to give it a better chance.

Anyway, as underdogs, defending and countering is exactly what we had to do, and what we should have been doing in so many of our recent fixtures with you. After so many years of **** poor organisation on the pitch from a defensive point of view, I have no shame in seeing Rovers finally add some of our own grit back into the derby instead of rolling over, and that's mostly why we're delighted with the point. It does feel like a small victory after what we've been through. Before Saturday, it was almost eleven years since we came away with anything from our meetings.

I'll leave it at that and won't go into too much detail about certain other events in the game!

I think it was a strange aftermath really as both sets of fans could probably feel satisfied with the result. Rovers did defend very well, and were very effective at breaking the game up - I think both Burnley and Rovers were top of the aerial balls won stat for the weekend, which sort of summed up how the game went. They also played on the break well, particularly targeting Egan-Riley. Us meanwhile were fielding four league debutants after a chaotic week of player turnover, some of whom had had one training session - Parker probably didn't know how he was going to line up until Friday. While our final ball was often lacking, I was still pleasantly surprised by some of our play, and there were very promising signs. Good game overall, proper derby. All I would say is that I think that was Rovers performing at close to top gear, whereas I believe we have more to gears to come once players are embedded in, and the tactics can be worked upon more.

The linesman may have been right to flag, but he didn’t flag correctly.
The signal he did was for offside, not to indicate a foul, and that is what everyone thought the free kick was given for

I applaud the Rovers defenders on the whole but I didn't feel they defended crosses particularly well, Foster scoring from one, hitting the post from another and seeing a third go narrowly wide. For that reason I'd have been tempted to bring Rodriguez on a little sooner and tell the two wingers to retain chalk on their boots on either side (taking a risk of getting hit on the break).

This kind of threat from crosses is something we rarely saw under Kompany, it was mainly cut inside as an inverted winger and shoot from the edge of the box (still tried too much of that).

The other thing we were poor at, which I think is down to a new squad not knowing the pressing triggers or transition teamwork, was breaking with our pace and power when they lost the ball on a rare foray upfield. That would have tested their defenders a bit more.

So they did well and need congratulating but I predict we will give their defence a tougher test in the away fixture. Personally after the week we had I was happy to come away with a point and an energetic, happy performance.

No tears at all on my part. I was happy with the performance we put in to grind out a result. The offside was undeniably incorrect. The foul aspect is debatable in my view. Six of one and half a dozen of the other. But done is done and I think it was a decent derby day for both sets of supporters. You keep your unbeaten record going. We get a long-awaited point!

We've conceded from a few corners so far this season, and nearly did again when you hit the outside of the post. Our two central defenders aren't exactly big brutes that can dominate aerial threats, which is part of the problem, but the bigger part of the problem is our 'keeper, whom we've been looking to replace for most of the summer. He should have done a lot more to relieve ourselves from the pressure of crosses, but he never catches the ball, and that's on the rare occasion he event attempts to go for the cross. Hopefully (from my perspective), the new Hungarian goalie we've got will be an improvement. Goalkeeper has been a huge problem area for us for years.
