Leicester wins PSR Appeal.
Leicester City has won its appeal against a decision that an independent Commission had jurisdiction to consider an alleged breach by the Club of Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSRs).

Fair play to them.
It continues their glorious history of irresponsible financial management and getting away with it.
It’s a real skill.

Re: Leicester wins PSR Appeal.
Sounds like they were guilty but got away with it as a small time of the 3 year period was spent in the championship.

Can’t imagine that has pleased those in Nottingham this evening.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 8:33 pmSounds like they were guilty but got away with it as a small time of the 3 year period was spent in the championship.

Dare I say that Man City will have a vested interest in this result?

Re: Leicester wins PSR Appeal.
I bet some of those grey subjective judgements accountants make, whether to account for a risk of something occurring, etc, can now be adjusted for BFC’s accounts last season, favouring this season, which could give the club more flexibility in January. Easy peasy. Doesn’t change the cash flow, aka “real money”, but would change the PSR angle.
The whole thing is a farce.
Wasn’t that De Marco KC guy the one who helped us when that Commission ruled BFC could potentially claim damages? I’m sure I recall the name. Not sure what happened with that.

Corrupt as

I don’t think the technicality Leicester used will help City.Juan Tanamera wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 8:48 pmDare I say that Man City will have a vested interest in this result?

Re: Leicester wins PSR Appeal.
So if an Independent Commission does not have the authority to consider the alleged breach, who does have the authority?

No surprise that the media darlings got away with another one.
'Well, I suppose you did cheat, but as it didn't pay off, we'll forget about eh'.

Re: Leicester wins PSR Appeal.
This is interesting now with both the Premier League and Football League stating they are unhappy with this decision.

The club that for years seemed to think it can cheat its way through might just lose this one yet.

Refreshing they have admitted to something for once though I guess
Re: Leicester wins PSR Appeal.
They are both unhappy but, so far as I can tell, they don't think they'll win an appeal.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 9:58 amThis is interesting now with both the Premier League and Football League stating they are unhappy with this decision.

I imagine there will be a fairly swift change of the rules to stop it happening again.

Re: Leicester wins PSR Appeal.
It would be interesting to find out when LCFC decided to change their date for submitting their accounts from 31st May in 2022 to 30th June in 2023 - is this possible?
