Re: Sambo
I assume that somewhere around February 2003 is the cut off day for players that need registering? For instance, Humphries is registered (DoB 1.3.2003 - according to the squad list on this site), but Ramsey and Hannibal are not (DoB 1.2003). Dodgson, Hugill and McDermott also not on the list.

Re: Sambo
Do the young players actually need to be registered?
Re: Sambo
Sounds like Sambo had been expected to leave on loan. Wonder what happens now.
Humphreys is on loan so has to be registered. The others you mentioned are permanent players.Hipper wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 4:24 pmI assume that somewhere around February 2003 is the cut off day for players that need registering? Re: Sambo
Sambo is not on the list because there was/is a chance he could go out on loan. If he doesn’t then he can be added.
Beyer is not included because he’s not going to be fit this side of the next window.

Re: Sambo
You have to be under 21 on New Year’s Day 2003. The big clue is CJ Egan-Riley who was born on 2nd Jan and doesn’t need to be included.Hipper wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 4:24 pmI assume that somewhere around February 2003 is the cut off day for players that need registering? Re: Sambo
It will be over twelve months when he does come back now. He shouldn’t have played in that game at Villa and when he went down they knew straight away to get the sub ready.California Colner wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 5:26 pmWhat is Beyer’s injury that’s keeping out so long?

Presumably Parker doesn’t fancy Sambo at the moment then and thinks he needs games? Egan-Riley to cover right back behind Roberts ?

No left back Owen Dodgson in there. Was hoping he could be first team squad potential this year after successful loan time in SPL and signing a new deal in July - injured? Have I missed another loan?

It seems crazy to me to loan a RB after losing Vitinho and obviously Assignon this window.
With two spaces in the squad, are we assuming we might still be looking at free agents?

I don’t think so, provided you have spaces which we have.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 6:52 pmIs there a cut off date that we have to add sambo into the squad

Re: Sambo
We haven’t lost Assignon, he was always leaving at the end of the season unless we stayed up. And no reason to assume we are looking at free agents, we’ve got the squad down in numbers, which we had to do, and there are enough under-21 players to leave two spaces.
Regards potentially loaning out Sambo, he is a player with precious little experience so we possibly thought it was advantageous to get him to a club where he would play.

Re: Sambo
It looks like sambo will be staying now but it would of seemed strange to loan him out after letting Vitinho go, leaving us with just Roberts and Pires as full backs, I know Humphreys played all across the back 4 against wolves and Egan-Riley started at right back (convinced he’s more of a defensive midfielder) we look like at full back even with samboClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 8:51 pmWe haven’t lost Assignon, he was always leaving at the end of the season unless we stayed up. Yeah which makes sense that we were linked with a right back on deadline day who looked to have some good experience. Still think we are light in the full back area with sambo stayingClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 9:16 pmWe obviously thought it would be beneficial to get him out on loan if we could

Was Redmond a knee injury?mybloodisclaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 6:12 amWhere are you hearing this? I know he's been out a while, and not expected back before Xmas. Bad knee injuries (Ramsay / Redmond) take 12 months to recover from.

Leaving out Ramsey seems to back up the thinking that he's way off being fit, but including Redmond implies he's rather closer.

He posted this in Jan on social. That appears to be the same brace I had when I had knee surgery. I guess with the time taken since (9 month) I thought it was a knee job.
