Very understandable in a hostile atmosphere today, Pires has looked shaky at times so Humphreys will offer a better defensive aspect.
Hannibal been away in Africa so likely tired and could be a risk for a red or losing his temper.

Happy to see Laurent given another chance.

Looks like we are having to drop Pires who gets forward from lb, to keep Humps in the team, to make up for the CJER's obvious lack of height.

Good to see Zian starting. Humphreys will be playing FB but on his favoured side.

Come on lads!

Injured list.

Pop a GK and a CM in there and we've got a full 11 who would be around the top of the Championship.

Very strange team. On paper, we’re even less attack-minded than we were before, but it might mean we’re better balanced so it doesn’t turn out that way.

Presume Fleming up front. Solid midfield
0-0 all over it.

Not to be too negative because it's a solid side. But I must say everytime I see our starting line up come out i can't help but feel a sense of disappointment that we have become a team of bog standard championship players so quickly.

I miss watching players with such ability as Berge, Odobert, Cork, Maatsen, Tella etc etc.
I really hope we can get some more exciting talent in January to make us a bit more interesting to watch.

Also, if Tresor isn't match fit now after a 2nd international break, is he realistically ever gooling to play for us or are we having the wool pulled over our eyes?

Flemming can play second striker. We come back to the same old story of needing teammates to get close to him.

With the exception of Foster this is as attacking a line up as we could start
Which sums up the abilities within our squad
Even if fit, the likes of Ramsey, Tresor and Benson would make little if any difference

Hard to guess the formation we will set up, if we get the balance right it could be enough, but surprised there's no place for Houtonji.
Also dropping Hannibal, as much as I like Laurent, leaves us light on someone to carry the ball forward through the middle.
It looks another safety first line up, which is horrible to watch.

Whoever we select, whatever format we play, if we don't get bodies, and balls, into the box we are ******* in the wind.

Pires at left back would be more attacking than Humps there. Humps is a cb. Just play him there ffs.

Pires is unlucky to miss out. I think he offers us a lot going forwards.

I presume it’ll be Roberts at right back and Humphreys at left back, although Sky Sports shows otherwise.

I’d hope for a convincing win today.

No it's not a thread to give opinions about the club and team. There's countless other threads for that.
No one expects completely positives comments on every post but surely it's not too much to ask to keep the degree if negativity that this thread invariably brings to a minimum. Slagging off players and moves after 15 minutes is unacceptable to me and that usually happens.

That corner was just lackadaisical!! Why don’t teams play quick corners, they always seem to wait until the defence is set.

Great take from Trafford. An excellent release downfield but just a little too strong.

Wednesdday look quite neat and tidy with some really nice close touches.
