Can't wait for the ref to score a diving header in injury time for the Hull equaliser

Another day another ref story (s):

— clear foul for Wolves at one end, not given, City break and score from a corner with 30 secs left, VAR Atwell gets it wrong again and overruled (inconsistency though as they are never overruled at the monitor, see Berge at Forest last year)
— Bobby Fatley gets out of the way in instalments at 1mph, directly affecting what led to the Sunderland winner
— Liverpool game all players throwing themselves down, commentary all about ref decisions not skill, already one pen wrongly given due to theatrics

Is it just me that is sick of this every single Sunday?

p.s. how wonderful we score a goal yesterday from a big tough striker staying on his feet despite being (fairly) buffeted?

You always fear an unjust defeat like that at Hull will add 10% on their performance on Wednesday

Let’s hope not

Sunderland at the moment look like the most complete team in the division. They stroke the ball around well, are aggressive and have quality and some creativity. Most others are either poor or works in progress.

Hull look vulnerable if pressed but look quite dangerous when attacking at pace. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they've got the quality up front - too many wrong decisions when attacking. I hope that continuous for our game.

Sunderland were very lucky that Hull were useless up front. They looked very dodgy at the back against pace.

Was chatting with a Mackem last night. He thinks their starting XI is very good. But over 46 games he thinks their strength in depth will cause serious problems. We, on the other hand, essentially almost have a backup XI, plus 9 injured players who could arguably start when back

Similar to 2 years ago, if we can be in the mix by Xmas, then I think we could be quite optimistic

Sunday football?

It's the premier league in general. And not just Liverpool, of course, but they had the chance to get rid of VAR and only wolves voted for it.

I barely watch it at all. I'd much rather watch, say, the Chesterfield v Notts County game that was on the other day. Far less diving, waiting about while some decision is overturned, and refs bottling decisions because they think that var will "fix it".
The German games are a better watch. That was not the case prior to var, and it probably would not be the case if it was jettisoned.

That said, I'm happier going to watch southern Premier league southern division than premier league. Your team might let in 5 to walton and hersham, but at least you still have spent a lot less money.
