Re: Bayern Munich
Hammered by Barca tonight. Sounds like they were a bit of a shambles defensively. Questions might be starting to be asked about Vinny.

Questions will be asked of Vinny how they perform in the Champions League and the Bundesliga vs Dortmund/Leverkusen. So far he’s fallen short IMO
Re: Bayern Munich
Look an utter shambles at the back, that Bayern squad should.never be losing to that Barca one let alone taking a hiding like that.

When / if it’s still happening in the New Year, the leniency shown will be far less.

Hilarious!
Re: Bayern Munich
As last season showed admitting he's wrong isn't one of Mr Kompanys strong points. They were struggling with the defensive high line when i saw them against Villa.

Not really that much to be proud of if you're a Bayern fan. Up until last season they had won the Bundesliga 11 or 12 seasons on the bounce.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 11:16 amThey are currently top of the Bundesliga, for balance.
They will probably win it again this year especially with Leverkusen in the CL. It's how they perform in Europe that will matter to the owners and fans.

Well it was more a response to the post saying VK had been “useless” since he left us which isn’t really true. I think the fans will still care about winning a title.Anonymous Claret wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 5:22 pmNot really that much to be proud of if you're a Bayern fan. Same mistakes.
Late October and serious questions being asked already? You’d think if they don’t get out of this early Champions League stage he probably gets potted?

Same old story. Fantastic against lesser opposition. Getting found out when they're not.
Maybe Kompany and Parker could both learn a thing or two from each other in their approach to games against different levels of opposition.

Re: Bayern Munich
The players have a lot of power there. Neuer, Kimmich and Müller have already seen off a number of managers.

£5m rests on it for BFC which by all accounts our debt levels suggest we need to come our way.

Re: Bayern Munich
Not sure even our board would be gullible enough to agree a compo deal that relied on VK winning the champions league
Re: Bayern Munich
Looking back, when we had players who went on to appear in the Europa league & Champions league final it's now obvious we were going to steam roller teams like Preston, and most of the league (Muric stood on the half way line for most of the game).
Re: Bayern Munich
VK thinks he's the bees knees, but up against top teams he hasn't a clue, as BM are finding out. if he does 1 full season he'll have done good. Bundesliga is a very poor league in comparison to the Prem, as results suggest so far for Bayern.

Re: Bayern Munich
I don’t, but I remember that was what was reported at the time by a fairly reliable source. £10m rising to £15m in success-related add-ons. Vague recollection it was Ad Jones but might be wrong. If I get chance I will try and find the thread and flick through it later.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 3:01 pmWon’t make much difference to our debt level.

The point is though, regardless of specifics, it will undoubtedly have performance clauses of some description in the same way every contract will do, so it’s in BFC’s direct interests that he’s successful now. Thats before you consider the potential reputational benefits we may in the longer-term.
As for it not scratching the surface of our debt, I’m not sure anyone knows what that actually is now after £100m+ sales in summer, but I can’t imagine it’s less than 5-10% of total debt so a significant sum we could do with coming our way if possible.

So we will still will be guaranteed the widely reported 10 million fee then? That's still outstanding business for a manager who is essentially showing himself to be nothing more than a flat track bully!NewClaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 10:43 amI don’t, but I remember that was what was reported at the time by a fairly reliable source. £10m rising to £15m in success-related add-ons. Freak result for Bayern yesterday. 2-0 up, they got a red card and then lost 3-2 to Bochum, who are just above the relegation zone.

I can't do with this type of stylised support, as per the above photo.
Re: Bayern Munich
It's better when it's at one end. The Nordwestkurve at Eintracht has some belters, and it's all organised by the fan clubs in that end with no club involvement. Much more organic.
The atmosphere is miles better than anything in the UK where people react to a goal and that's it.

Re: Bayern Munich
Looks good unless you’re in it. Same with all the big flag ********.
The regimented ultra thing is just as dull as reacting only to goals for me, largely because they barely react to goals. If you aren’t watching the game you might not realise a team had scored. The games I’ve been to in Germany where they have a constant din are good the first couple of times but the novelty wears off pretty quick.
Nothing better than an organic football atmosphere, where the importance and flow of the game dictate. All too rare now, of course.
Having a beer in the stands is obvs the bit where they excel and are way ahead of us.

It's very true. In Germany fans are very much singing and behind the team for the full ninety regardless of what's happening on the pitch.ChrisG wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 9:58 amIt's better when it's at one end. It's much more conditional in England and given the right circumstances that can translate into really good atmospheres, but often English grounds can be very quiet especially if things aren't going well in the game or the wider season.
