Trafford 5 Nothing to do but still managed to give us one or two worrying moments
Roberts 7* used the ball well in possession MoM
CJ 6 Too many touches at times and slow in distributing the ball but made some cracking balls
Esteve 6 Solid defensively
Humphreys 6 Looks better defensively than Pires but not going forward but did ok
Cullen 5 Not enough creativity from him
Brownhill 3 Contributed square root of FA
Laurent 7 We look better with him in midfield but seemed to find himself in situations that needed a mor e creative player
Anthony 6 Saw plenty of the ball without creating too much, needs to be more precise with his crossing
Flemming 6 Flogging a dead horse off the service he receives, does his best to make himself available
Koleosho 4 Busy going nowhere, sooner Sarmiento is fit then he can have a rest

Rodriguez 4 Sorry J it needs more than you can offer
Agyei 5 Young and plays without fear, final ball needs working on
Hountondji 3 Really hope he has more to offer than what we have seen in his appearances to date

Parker 3 I understand that not losing is a pre-requisite, but we need to be more adventurous than what we are. and if he`s happy with that performance then forget promotion this season

Is it the same guy we had last season?

He must know where the bodies are buried.
It is. Unsurprisingly he was one of those who didn't leave with VK.
I suppose - if we are going to be fair to him - we now tend to defend corners well enough, but there's just no creativity from him, and surely it's his job to nominate our dead ball specialists, and he still hasn't rumbled that Brownhill is not the man for the job.

Trafford 6 - Unemployed
Roberts 7 - put himself about a lot and came closest to scoring.
Esteve 6. - not tested very much
Egan-Riley 7 - defensively sound and some good distribution
Humphreys 6 - more Charlie than Ian, fluffed Burnley’s best chance.
Koleosho 6 - thought he did better today, gave the ball away less and retained possession more often
Cullen 6 - buzzed around a lot but no sting
Brownhill 6 - as above
Laurent 7 - two best efforts on goal apart from Roberts shot. Our most progressive midfielder.
Anthony 5 - disappointing today. Seems to gel better with Pires.
Flemming 5 - mainly ineffective

Rodrigues 4 - offers very little these days
Pires - 5 didn’t really do much

The two late subs Hountondji and Agyei neither offered much apart from effort.

The wingers were stifled today due to our laborious build up, double teamed and very little to aim at in the middle. Unfortunately we are very predictable and one dimensional at the moment offensively.

Trafford 4 Still does not instill confidence or pick a decent pass but capable of slicing simple clearances
Roberts 7 unlucky not to score
Estève 7 needs to pass forward not sideways
ER 7
Humphreys 5
Koleosho 5 looks unhappy
Brownhill 4 unusually bad
Cullen 5 below par
Anthony 5 lacking confidence
Laurent 5
Flemming 4 on the fringes playing out of position

Subs all 4

We are watching the demise of our club continue. Parker has no clue and no passion. All we are doing is wasting 2 points a game. This league is very poor and so are we

It's a shame JBG isn't playing for us anymore, we desperately miss his quality on the ball.

Add in Gudmundsson's creativity and craftsmanship, and Vitinho's pace and attacking instinct from full back, and even allowing for some other limitations in the attacking third, I suspect that makes the difference and we win comfortably.

I agree with you there, Spice.

I didn't understand those sales then; they look even more short-sighted now (though I understand the aspect of letting JBG earn one last big pay day).

A totally one sided game in our favour that still managed to be really dull. We should be putting 3 or 4 past fodder like qpr and its not to really the fault of the players that we siding, more how the team was set up and told to play. Wingers playing far too wide leaving one centre forward isolated made it easy for any well drilled team to sit in an defend. Despite absolutely dominating and tons of pressure, this was never a game where you thought it’s only a matter of time until we score. Our most creative players were our defenders and that tells you all you need to know.

Trafford 6 nothing to do

Roberts 7 more like how he played under Kompany, best we’ve seen from him this season

Egan-Riley 8 excellent defensively and his passing was superb

Esteve 7 easy day at the office

Humphreys 6 offers less going forward but no complaints

Cullen 5 metronomic as ever but we needed more cutting edge

Brownhill 6 lots of energy but if we’re going to play 3 central midfielders, he needs to be the furthest forward

Laurent 6 way better than Hannibal in that role but not the answer

Koleosho 5 better than Tuesday which wasn’t difficult, just as ineffective when he switched to the left

Anthony 6 better than Koleosho

Flemming 5 not a lone striker, totally isolated and we lack any pace with him up top which stifles any attempts at quick build up play

The wrong set up for a game like this, we should be going 2 up top or with Jay as the striker and Flemming just off him. Agyei looks like he’s got a lot to learn and Hountonji appears very substandard for the levels we require on his showings so far.

We played some very good football at times but far too often it’s all far too slow.

My biggest criticism is having 16 corners with little variation. Surely there must be an alternative to pumping it into the middle of penalty box.

Trafford-6 Not a great deal to do but his distribution still needs to drastically improve imo
Roberts-8 Excellent game
CJ-8 Improving game on game, at this rate it will be difficult for Worrall when he's fit
Esteve*-8 Game of top quality again. Mr consistent.
Humphreys-6 In his defence he's more of a CB.
Cullen-6 To many sideways passes and he's far from the level he was 2 seasons ago.
Brownhill-5 I thought he was anonymous and as captain and a senior pro he should show more leadership.
Laurent-7 Thought he was very good for 60 minutes.
Koleosho-5 An enigma but he's heavily shackled.
Anthony-7 I know i'm very much in the minority but I thought he was our best outlet of creating chances. Lovely first touch.
Fleming-4 Though he was poor, neither a 9 or 10.

Think you’ll find we also pumped it to the head of the first defender and pumped it way beyond the far post.

From tv
Trafford 6 not much to do, but still didn’t impress
Roberts 8 he and Esteve best players on the pitch
ER 7 improving with every game
Esteve 8 a cut above the rest
Humphries 6 not great going forward
Laurent 7 started well then faded, not fast enough for me
Cullen 5 he’s morphing into Westwood with his sideways passes
Brownhill 5 he was part of a poor midfield yesterday
Koleosho 7 much improved on last couple of games, though he needs coaching
Flemming 6 not a number nine, his performance shows why Foster struggles in this one up front system
Anthony 4 slow, no energy, never tries to go on the outside (has done twice and Foster and Flemming scored). Gets the ball and passes it backwards, he needs a rocket up his arris.

Another totally frustrating and disappointing performance, where our system is too unimaginative and lethargic against poor teams who just sit back. Scott has to take some of the blame for these lack lustre displays. There were some moments throughout the first half but our build up is too slow allowing even poor teams time to get back into their deep defensive positions. Koleosho apart we have no real pace or desire to beat men and get to the bye line . Two strikers are an absolute requirement for next transfer window.

Trafford (6) - Deckchair day.
Roberts (7) - Very good going forward in the first half. Second half, not so much.
Esteve (7) - Like a cheat code in this League.
Egan Riley (6) - A couple of raking passes first half, untroubled defensively.
Humphries (5) - Meh.
Koleosho (5) - All his pace is doing right now is letting him run into trouble quicker.
Cullen (5) - Neat, tidy, and ultimately not what we needed on the day against desperately unambitious opponents.
Brownhill (5) - Barely noticed him apart from his shocking corners.
Laurent (6) - Pick of the midfield, which was a damned low bar on the day.
Flemming (5) - Pretty ineffective.
Anthony (5) - Well his corners beat the first man, at least

Don't think any of the subs were on long enough - certainly none of them made any difference to a performance that had long since congealed, although it was interesting seeing Rodriguez come on and seemingly play everywhere except at centre-forward.

Starting with the positives, the first-half was fine and probably the best 45 minutes I've seen us put in since the end of the transfer window. Accurate passing at pace, although the inability to get through the QPR defence more often was maybe telling.

Whatever spark we had before the break must have been left in the dressing room though, because the second half was a return to the slow, laboured plodding that wouldn't have brought a goal if QPR had just wandered off and left us to it. Moves got bogged down in midfield or ran aground at the edge of the area. Koleosho doesn't seem to realise that if he's double-marked it must mean an overload somewhere else, hence he never finds or even looks for it, preferring to run into trouble and get dispossessed. Anthony flitted around on the periphery of the game without influencing it, Flemming looked lost between playing as a 9 or a 10 and ending up not much of either. And the subs, when they came, were utterly bizarre and just added confusion to the tactical sterility.

And no, I don't want to hear about how hard it is when teams come and park the bus; in our position that goes with the territory and especially yesterday. QPR are not a good team but for too long yesterday they looked pretty comfortable. They didn't have to throw bodies on the line for 90 minutes, we didn't force them into last-gasp panic, their keeper didn't have to make a string of saves or pluck shots out of the top corner. Basic competence was enough (second half at least) to utterly nullify us as a threat. We aren't going to stay second in the League for too long unless Parker can get that attack firing.

The ratings just show we don’t have may stand out player this season. We have no go to. No out ball. No skill at all. No finisher. Just a team of grafters who can defend ok.

Trafford...6. Could have brought something to read and a shooting stick.
Roberts..7..An actual full back.
CJ 7...not Harwood Bellis yet, but he can ping a pass decently.
Esteve..7..complete defender
Hump..5..sloppy at times..certainly not a left back.
Cullen..6 not his kind of game
Laurent..8
Brownhill..7
Anthony..6
Flemm..6 wandered around their half just looking for a gig..inneffective
Koleo..6...could play a role simply standing as far away from the action as possible with 2 men on him. It would be more effective than this under 10's stuff.

JRod...5. Not yet at the walking football stage, but it cant be far away.

We played some great stuff, and the best half of football so far this season, but we look clueless in the final third. Mid table by xmas if we cant find the personnel and strategy to change this...
