Turf Moor lock-ups ...
Some years ago, I did a stadium tour and in the bowels of the Cricket Field stand was a lock-up for errant supporters. It had 2 sections, for Home and Away supporters. It was explained that it was used if the police were too busy to escort suspects down to the Police Station ...
Are they still there, and secondly, are they still in use ?

Bertie Bee got locked up in there a few years back.
I think they are just for show these days.

Perhaps a few players have locked themselves in accidentally.

Prior to Mr Pace taking over the rooms were used to store dry powder
Re: Turf Moor lock-ups ...
I believe they did have custody rooms but couldn't swear on it.

Was at the QPR game when he took a pair of glasses from a fan in the stands and tried to hand them to a linesmanQuickenthetempo wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 10:58 amBertie Bee got locked up in there a few years back.

Pretty sure it was the same game as the coke bottle incident with Barton

I think most grounds had holding cells. I had the pleasure of the one at Bramall Lane many years ago.

I had the pleasure of sitting next to Jimmy McIlroy for that match. It was the only pleasure I can confirm and I’m sure it must have been better for those in the cells.Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 1:07 pmAnd I would have gone in one at York on Boxing Day 1984, except they were already full of Burnley fans so I was booted out of the ground.

Be a few players who have locked themselves in on purpose when Stan was after ‘em….Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 11:06 amPerhaps a few players have locked themselves in accidentally.

Re: Turf Moor lock-ups ...
I've been in the ones at St Andrews, was a good laugh to be fair, had 3 Birmingham fans growling at us from the other cell

My first ever away game was that. A real baptism of fire.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 4:53 pmI had the pleasure of sitting next to Jimmy McIlroy for that match. It was the only pleasure I can confirm and I’m sure it must have been better for those in the cells.

Everyone in fancy dress. Pitch invasion at half time with the police arresting grizzly bears and Yetis. Got beat 4 nil. One I'll never forget.Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 1:07 pmAnd I would have gone in one at York on Boxing Day 1984, except they were already full of Burnley fans so I was booted out of the ground.
Re: Turf Moor lock-ups ...
Quite common at football grounds. It allows police to detain before transport arrives and they can also do some paperwork that saves time at the police station.
