Am I allowed to say anything negative about Parker's style of non-football yet?
Or would that still mean I'm not a true patriot?

No, if it's the meaningless drivel you were spouting on the other thread.
You play with what you're given. We have no goalscorer.
I doubt you'd have us in the playoff places. No need to panic yet. See what Father Christmas brings us in the January shopping window.

Parkerball is exactly what Fulham and Bourenmouth fans said it is. It's boring as hell. There will be plenty on here unwilling to acknowledge it, and some of them will get upset by all the people pointing it out, but there's no getting away from it.

I agree with Burnley007. It was the wrong appointment. I couldn’t care less if he left tomorrow. I suspect we’ve got him for the season though as a minimum.

He seems to set out for a 0-0. That's what I don't like. We should be going for 3 or 4-0 and if we win 1-0, no problem.

No I back up the idea this managers football is boring and very predictable. Very poor. Playing certain players who are obviously not playing well and others constantly benched.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 4:58 pmYou'll agree and back up someone whos pleased we are losing? Re: ParkerBall
Benefit of the doubt has been given but it’s getting progressively more dreary. Watching almost carbon copy performances away at Oxford, Hull, Millwall and home against Preston, QPR has been difficult to remain positive with. It’s needed to improve and to show signs of progression but I’m starting to worry that a combination of SP’s tactics and the rank average squad that Pace has assembled with the buttons from his raked in bullions mean that ‘this is your lot’.
Re: ParkerBall
Appointing Parker may prove a mistake, it may not. If we're talking mistakes from Pace what about overspending last season and selling virtually all of our attacking quality.
Parker has been shafted by him. Granted his tactics are pretty dire at the min.

Re: ParkerBall
I got slagged off for admitting I booed last week but this is another example of just how low we've sunk. Nothing will improve whilst we have Parker in the hot seat. The set up just doesn't work and we look more turgid by the week.
We have an isolated striker, aimless wingers, nobody running from deep, nothing from the full backs and I don't know where the Josh Cullen of two years ago has gone! It is pitiful stuff, as bad as anything served up by Dyche or Cotterill. I've got tickets for WBA this Thursday. I really hope it improves but the only thing I'm expecting is Burnley won't score... or even look remotely like scoring!

People have wisely spoken about the dangers of hire and fire policies.
But there is a danger too in adopting the sunk cost fallacy.
Despite the results and league position, the performances since the the opening two games have been dire. So bad that threads like this have legitimacy, even if they seem premature.

Re: ParkerBall
Wrong appointment.
The warning signs were there with the musings of the Bournemouth and Fulham fans. Not to mention his disastrous spell in Brugge.
We were always going to make a balls up with an appointment sooner or later after hitting the jackpot previously with Dyche and then Kompany.
This is it.

Re: ParkerBall
We are a fanbase of people who can’t wait to say ‘I told you so’ 007 the prime example
Parker isn’t getting enough out of the players, even a bang average team should have more than 1 shot on target in the championship.
However I will judge when all players are fit

Re: ParkerBall
After witnessing 13 league games, I feel confident in my assessment now that we've made a huge mistake appointing Scott Parker. His two Championship teams had a striker up front who was far too good for the league. We don't.
We're going absolutely nowhere under him and it'll soon be time for the board to make their own assessment as to whether Championship mediocrity this season is acceptable in terms of finances and in terms of performance.

Re: ParkerBall
Absolute nonsense. The squad Parker started with discounting the players sold is streets ahead of what Dyche inherited and what Kompany started with once he lost all the Dyche players.
VK would have this squad playing miles better football and would be easily coming top two.
We have to give Parker more time but he needs to be much more positive in his team selection and tactics and he needs to give this team some of identity around how we approach and play this season

No it`s bloody worse, these are supposedly better players, I think we would be seeing better quality performances if Cotterill was manager now, we don`t look fit enough or sharp enough and don`t get me started on the lack of passion or commitment, depressingly woeful football being served up at the moment, really feel for those that made the trip today they deserved a lot better than that

Some fun facts for Parkerball, over the past 5 games we are currently:
- The lowest XG in the ENTIRE EFL
- The lowest big chances made in the ENTIRE EFL
- Joint lowest goalscorers ENTIRE EFL
Current form has us finishing 15th, goals scored + chances made has us finishing 16th

When this thread was started, we didn't know if we were just "readjusting" to the turnover in personnel or whether the dull football represented what we'd get throughout the rest of the season.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:14 pmYes, what significant changes took place after those opening two games?

The longer it goes on, the more evidence there is that the opening two games were the exception to the rule. We're on course now to register 18 (eighteen) games without scoring - with the second most expensive squad in the league.

Long way to go yet but this is as dull as I’ve ever seen. We were 1-0 down with 5 mins to go, Trafford is fannying about passing it short to a defender who then passed it back to him. I was screaming at the tv. Woeful and I can’t see us finishing top 6

It’s dreadful stuff. Every players first instinct is to go backwards. Two totally inept wingers and a non existence strike force.
