Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
When you watch players like Erling Haaland they are on a totally different level. Anticipation and timing are unbelievable. If we only had a modern day Andy Payton.
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
For the fast few weeks on the hooky fire stick Burnley channel hasn't had any Phil Bird which has been a welcome break to be honest. Is it just me or is anyone else?
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
Well on top halfway through this half. Dominating possession, had a few efforts and got some good crosses in, but not enough players trying to get in the box.
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
Probably the first and only time you'll hear Andy Payton and Erling Harland mentioned in the same breath

Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
Winning a lot of 50-50s today, which is promising.

Taking more shots which is good to see.
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
They've all been poor efforts so far but it certainly looks like the players have been encouraged to shoot

We are struggling with simple passes. So frustrating.

So far this game has proved Sarmiento isn't a No10 and Flemming isn't a No9.
I'd love to see Flemming playing behind Jay or Houtondji for a prolonged period of time.

Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
We've been far worse this season at doing that.
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
Drives me nuts with Anthony. He's great until he has to make a pass. It's as if his effort ends when he realizes he has to give up the ball.

It's well up there...

I'm actually bored rigid watching touchy feely modern football. First time I've posted whilst at the Turf. And Q the ohhh you're not loyal brigade.
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
Is that 300 minutes without a goal? injury time and terrible referees notwithstanding

Haha Yeah . I was just trying to compare a Burnley player who had a similar knack of being in the right place at the right time. Of course at a different level.

Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
What a dreadful FK. After everybody has gone up a poor sideways pass leads to Cullen picking up a yellow.

Poor decision making when we have the ball. Players not on the same page.
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
I find it puzzling sp doesn't play jay forget his age he knows how to play CF especially as it's been so long since we scored from open play or remotely looked dangerous from set pieces

Pires seems like the only player that knows how to create a goal.

That's been this season so far in a nutshell really.superdimitri wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 3:36 pmPoor decision making when we have the ball. Players not on the same page.
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
Anthony has also been creating a bit. I'd like to see Flemming with more of the ball, (as I'm sure we all would).superdimitri wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 3:40 pmPires seems like the only player that knows how to create a goal.

He's probably a better winger than defender.superdimitri wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 3:40 pmPires seems like the only player that knows how to create a goal.
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
I'd have put money on JRod being on the end of that Pires pass.

I just want to see us make a keeper dive for a save
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
Is a cross that is deflected to the keeper considered a shot on target?

Absolutely disgraceful passing in a dangerous area. No pressure but straight to a Swansea player

Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
Cullen gets away without a second yellow. Poor late challenge.
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
Not impressed again. Couple of good passages of play, but on the whole the end product is poor and we look a bit vulnerable on the counter. Flemming isn't a striker, not that he's getting any service, but looks another game where we may well struggle to score.
Re: Burnley v Swansea MATCH Thread
Another 5/10 performance so far! No intensity, no pressing, just flat. Really odd effort so far!

Needs to take a midfielder off and bring jay on at HT or it's another draw
