Double swiping a ST
So last night I was refused entry at the turnstile with it saying my ST had already been used. Apparently it double swiped.
I was advised to speak to a steward outside who in turn pointed me in the direction of the chief steward in Orange.
He had a machine that rebooted my card (when Internet allowed). A good service.
While I was with him a queue built up to use so it must happen quite often, I have read on here about people having to go round to the ticket office for similar so thought I would make people aware.

Re: Double swiping a ST
Happened to me a few years ago. The turnstile operator just saw the screen saying "card pre-used" or something, and wouldn't let me in. I saw it go green when I scanned it before the error message appeared. It also says the time on the screen as to when it was used. I argued with the operator that the time it said was the current time, and there was no way I could have used it elsewhere. Eventually he overrode the gate to let me in
There needs to be a small time delay after the scan for a few seconds to stop it happening

I had to download one ticket, early on. ( which wouldn't scan)Ended up missing 15-20 mins as the ticket office is opposite my entry point!

Those scanners are the pits.
Just something else to add to the 'customer experience'.

Don’t worry, it is on Russell’s list. Bloke is flat out at the moment making our visits to the Turf immensely pleasurable.dougcollins wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 6:37 pmThose scanners are the pits.

Re: Double swiping a ST
Had this a couple of years ago. Turnstile operator told me to go and find a man in orange to sort it. Couldn't see one when I looked around, and said why should I be trying to sort out their problem, I'd walked from car to turnstile without card leaving my pocket.
Should be a system where they can get someone over quickly to sort it out.
