Re: Lyle Foster
This is good news as I believe he’s got the raw ability to be the best 9 in the league. I’m hopeful we’ll see a Flemmimg / Foster partnership develop, but also feel Sarmiento / Foster will work well too. I wonder if by ‘back’ he’s meaning bench for this weekend or simply in full training, with a view to an u21s game in the next week or so, I’m guessing the latter.

Re: Lyle Foster
He's had about five good games since he signed. Saying he could be the best in the league is a bit of a stretch.RVclaret wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 7:31 pmThis is good news as I believe he’s got the raw ability to be the best 9 in the league. I watched a pre match Scotty interview where he stated LF was training and progressing but would not be ready for this weekend.

Re: Lyle Foster
He has 7 goals in 43 appearances in total, which I think is more relevant, so hardly prolific.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 7:45 pmHe’s got a 1-3 goal contribution record at premier league level
Yet people mock him like he’s crap

Re: Lyle Foster
When he’s been fit, fully fit and raring to go, he’s looked an absolute handful.
I hope he’s back and ready to go. We will need him.
Delighted for him. Delighted for us. It might just give us another option. I’d like to see him paired up with Zian when he’s match fit.

Re: Lyle Foster
I saw that which suggests he might have had some mental health issues although it was reported that it was an injury picked up playing for South Africa.
Without doubt it will be good to have him back and we could do with the Foster type performance we saw at Villa last season.

He hurt his knee in a collision with goalie, which looking at the photo required treatment, no suggestion of anything else, he states it was an injury in the postClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 8:29 pmI saw that which suggests he might have had some mental health issues although it was reported that it was an injury picked up playing for South Africa.

Probably meant the help he received getting back to fitness.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 8:34 pmWhich is what I thought but it was his reference to his family and the club helping him through it that had me thinking that.

Re: Lyle Foster
Having seen Parker's conference this week I read into it that he was close and maybe on the bench this week, if not available for Watford, but another poster said it would be the new year in response. Be good to get him back if poss at Carrow Road. Unlike another of our mystery injuries its nice to know Lyle is thinking of the fans and letting us know

Good news, hopefully he can have a good run of fitness and start to prove his worth.
Has there been any update on Redmond? I’m assuming that he’s had a setback, but I haven’t seen anything to confirm that.

He's going to be useful against sides that actually try and come at us. Which won't happen much, but will happen in more away games.warksclaret wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 8:48 pmHaving seen Parker's conference this week I read into it that he was close and maybe on the bench this week, if not available for Watford, but another poster said it would be the new year in response. Re: Lyle Foster
Glad to have him back in the squad. He was brilliant in the game at Villa , where we played 4-4-2 with Amdouni in the 10 role . Hopefully SP plays Fleming there and we start having a right go at teams .

Great news that he’s back. The more options available up top the better.
I’m not sure it helps if people are speculating about his mental health though.

Not sure apart from seeing him collide with a keeper and being stretchered off with his legs tied together.

Hardly speculation when it’s been in the public domain for well over a year.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 9:03 pmGreat news that he’s back. The more options available up top the better.

He had recovered some time ago from the injury sustained in the international according to Parker so that plus his comments suggest it’s a possibility.

Re: Lyle Foster
Absolutely brilliant news and chuffed for him.
Personally I think he is the missing link.
The only problem I have as an old fuddy duddy, SP has obviously kept his return under wraps for maximum effect against Norwich.
Why would he put it on social media so that Norwich can plan / prepare their tactics?

Whether in body or mind, he's never going to be good enough for us moving forward.
Certainly not in this YAWN football we are playing anyway.

This yawn football you refer to is certainly not happening away from home. We just haven’t had the wherewithal to break down teams playing for a point.Bin Ont Turf wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 9:27 pmWhether in body or mind, he's never going to be good enough for us moving forward.

Once again though, Foster is yet another player who has become better whilst unavailable.
