Good to have him fit and in a good frame of mind. 442 might help our strike force, in this league.

This yawn football you refer to is certainly not happening away from home. We just haven’t had the wherewithal to break down teams playing for a point.
Oxford?

Anyway you're right, all our attacking options aren't good enough in this set up.

Whether in body or mind, he's never going to be good enough for us moving forward.

Certainly not in this YAWN football we are playing anyway.
So will you be supporting him and hoping he has a good game when he returns ?.....or not.

I thought Jay Rod had done okay tbh.

Once again though, Foster is yet another player who has become better whilst unavailable.
Jay Rod has done okay but at 35 he ain’t going to get you the goals required,Probably better coming off the bench for 20-30 minutes.

Yet he's still got more goals than Foster, who everyone wants back in the team because he played well in a game last season at Villa that we lost.

All about opinions I suppose.

Lovely pictures, good to see him, his partner and his daughter so happy. Great if we can get him back in the side.

He doesn’t yet get enough assists and goals but he has some good raw attributes and needs a run in the side.

No. He'll be booing him every time he goes near the ball.

What a daft question!

I assume we will continue with Jay Rod up front and Lyle will be and impact sub for him due to his two goals (one a penalty) in 15 appearances :D

That’s the one away game where the home team played in the same way as so many teams have done against us on the Turf. But generally our best performances have come on the road.

Is Foster's strike rate any better?

There's a reason everyone wants to see us sign a striker in January.

5 in 24 in the PL, not terrible in a relegated side.

The goals will come, he's had a very stop/start career at Burnley for various reasons.

Obviously as a striker he is judged on his goal return but if you ask the question who brings more to the team Jay Rod or Foster there is only one answer.

If Jay Rod had scored a few goals since Foster has been out then I could understand your argument, but he hasn't

And I as I've already pointed out, 7 in 43 in total league games for us, which is far more relevant.

I've been hearing this "goals will come" argument since he signed.

There simply haven't been enough goals, assists or generally good performances from him for me to think he's the long term answer (or even short term for that matter).

Just for a bit of balance, Danny Ings got six goals in his first two seasons with us in 47 appearances.

He would have been written off with those figures were he playing for us now.

Not really. Due to the way you've composed them, I don't understand what they mean. They look like a maths test formula or something.

I'm sure they back up your "Foster is brilliant" argument though.

His stats don’t look good but Scott has the job of getting the best out of him because he has the ability and not the consistency.Having said that our striking force is currently shocking -a guy out of position ,a guy well of the mark and a guy who should have retired over a year ago
I for one welcome his return

Hes a player that needs belief in himself, and there were a number of performances in the PL when I thought WOW, he is something special ie both Villa games, Man City away, Luton away, Forest league cup and league away, and several more. He looked like a centre half's nightmare. Sadly most fans will remember him for many lack lustre games-but lets welcome him back and get behind him because if we can sort out attack we can continue to challenge effectively in this division

I'm not sure what hes been going on with the guy since his international injury. Hopefully the recuperation has improved his ability to play as the main striker for our club now for the rest of our season. But he needs to be better than he was playing up to his injury or we need to sign someone else who is better, otherwise we can kiss any thoughts of promotion goodbye for this season.

Not sure why you keep going on about Ings.

He was young, didn't start much and had Charlie Austin in front of him.

Not enough research is carried out on some signings. I pretty much fought tooth & nail arguing with 1 unnamed posted that LFs previous problems were well known prior to signing the same regarding tresor. If you invite problems upon yourself it's as sure as eggs you'll get problems. All is this avoidable with due dilligence regarding researching.

They have.
Particularly at the start of the season when we mullered Luton on their own patch.
But then the manager had the excellent division -winning nucleus of the team sold from under him.

We've basically been playing make-do-and-mend ever since, sometimes it's worked, sometimes not.

What could have been....

Yes because everyone with mental health problems should be consigned to the scrap heap, shouldn’t they?

No one ever turns mental health problems around and goes on to thrive, do they?

Thankfully, the world is waking up a little, Jakub.

I for one would not risk Foster. We need to get rid asap.. in January window. Hes not good enough never was. And as a business its a sale for me. Move on to a striker that is reliable enough to play week in week out. Foster a sick note.

Parker could have tried something similar against Derby with Flemming behind Jay

Thats all fine and dandy in our pc correct world we will in. Everyones afraid to say what they really think. Foster has been a disaster no matter what way u look at it and unfortunately we now have cuddle him and try to get him back. Out the door with him as soon as possible. Let someone other club look after him.

The only way we will ever get a fee for Foster now is if he has a consistent spell of playing and proves that his issues are behind him, which may take some time.

Horrible attitude
He has robbed a huge wage from Burnley and no pay back. Would you like to be footing the bill for his wages ?

Unfortunately we are stuck with him, as no one will pay close to what we paid. Would be great if he could get himself sorted, play more than half a season and then play well for more than a handful games when he is available.

I don't think he's up to it from what I've seen, it seems to me like he has been sulking since VK left.

Not sure why you keep going on about Ings
I am.

He was another who had a bunch of know-nowts on his back from the get-go.

Surprising how so many don't give a **** about people with mental health issues. You don't need to have gone through it yourself, you just need to be a decent person.

Ings was arguably the most natural striker we've had since Casper.

They have.
Particularly at the start of the season when we mullered Luton on their own patch.
But then the manager had the excellent division -winning nucleus of the team sold from under him.

We've basically been playing make-do-and-mend ever since, sometimes it's worked, sometimes not.

What could have been....
We've picked up four more away wins since Luton. Leeds was a battle admittedly but we have played progressively better in the other three away wins at Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol City and Stoke.

We did throw in that horror show at Millwall but we have put some good performances in away from home. Let's hope for another one tomorrow.

Welcome back Lyle.

We all want to see the Lyle we saw in the premier league pre illness & at Villa park that night. Hopefully he'll be pumped and ready to go!

One game against Villa. How much has that game cost Burnley. I have sympathy for people with mental illness. But this is a football team and a business…

What does "the get-go" mean?
